Quarter VGA

Quarter VGA, or QVGA, refers to screens that have a 320x240 resolution. The name comes from the fact that the resolution is a quarter times smaller than the maximum resolution provided by the Video Graphics Array (VGA) display standard. QVGA is very popular among handheld gaming devices and mobile phones. In the case of a lot of handheld equipment that use QVGA, the screen display is in portrait instead of landscape mode, making the resolution technically 240x320.

QVGA video typically has a framerate of 15fps to 30fps. The iTunes store used to distribute premium TV show content in QVGA resolution, but upgraded to entice consumers to check out digital video downloads.
