IDTVIDTV stands for Improved-definition Television. IDTV is a transmitter or receiver that exceed the performance requirements of the NTSC standard but also remain in the general parameters of NTSC emissions standards. IDTV improvements can be made either at the television transmitter or receiver. A television receiver could improve the video quality by using techniques such as frame doubling, line doubling and digital filtering.
