Using mkv2vob to turn your mkv file to a vob
First off we must use WinRAR to extract the program to its own folder. You cannot just run the program from inside WinRAR, you must extract all the contents to its own folder. From there find the application (should be separate from the tools folder) and run the application. From there it will ask you to find the mkv file so navigate to where the file is stored and hit Open.
From there a new window will pop up asking you to select where you want to save your VOB file to. You can rename the file if you choose but make sure it has the .mkv extension when you rename the file. When you are satisfied hit Save.
The final step is simply a matter of choice but I recommend (as does the program) to select Automatic. Please note that during the process many windows will open and close automatically but this is normal. Please do not close or click on the windows. If you are afraid you will do so, perhaps you should try beginning the process right before bed and letting it run while you sleep.
Finishing Up
Once the process is complete you will have your x264/AC3 file as a VOB file that the PS3 can read. You will then have a few options to move the file to the PS3 for playback. This depends on how you normally get files to your PS3 but there are multiple options.
You can choose to burn the file to a DVD-R, you can move them to a high capacity USB flash drive or you can stream it using TVersity.
