Hulu is now open to the public

12 March 2008 7:35 by Rich "vurbal" Fiscus | 13 comments

Hulu is now open to the public If you've been looking forward to seeing Hulu, the online video site from NBC Universal and News Corp, but haven't been able to get an invitation to the private beta you're in luck. After several hours offline, preparing for the big launch, Hulu is out of beta and available to all U.S. residents.

Hulu has been in private beta since October of last year, and has received very positive reviews from nearly everyone. You can find my new review of the service .

In addition to offering ad-supported Streaming of both current and past TV shows, Hulu allows members to share video clips with friends in a number of ways. They can be embedded in web pages, added to social networking sites like MySpace or Facebook, or submitted to Digg.

If you'd like to try out Hulu for yourself you can sign up at their website. For more information read the new review in our Guides section.

It's US only right now. They say they're working on making it available internationally, but I wouldn't hold my breath. IMO that can't happen unless they either filter it based on when shows are aired in your country or start airing everything at the same time in every country.

If DVDs didn't make that happen I can't imagine Hulu will either

The good news is its like a internet tv on nbc abc and so on full episodes.

the bad thing is they don't have all the episode I was watching news radio and the skip like half the first season and then a episodes in second and 3rd they skip.

Other good thing like 3 30 second comercials loads really quick.

The bad new for movie you have too sign up too watch the R rated but thats no problem then went too watch the jerk and its edited out blowjob so I guess if it's rated R they will edit out nudity too.

Also they show comercials through the movie.

But surprisingly the movie you can skip through it and not have too wait till it loads that was good.

Well I will give it a 6/10 for now and room too improve but it's pretty good so far.

One last thing I liked no ads on the show you watch also no downloads too watch the movies or tv shows plus fullscreen awesome.

    Very good quality.

Look, you can't have everything the way you want it. Commercials are needed. They need to make money somehow. Same way they have commercials on cable tv. They didn't make this site to solely provide us with entertainment, they also want to make money, and possibly make this the new 'hit' website like myspace, youtube etc...

And with the "sign up to watch R rated movies" makes sense. Just like you need to be 18 to watch adult films.

I like the site, and am so glad that I can just watch from my browser instead of buy/rent or download the movies elsewhere.

Those who live in europe why they dont make it a paysite. This is a really good site with loads of shows , you pay a fee like 100 - 200 euros a year and everyone will be happy

    i COULD NOT REGISTER...
quite annoying... not worth it- It wasn't accepting my input of the coded message box they want you to verify- this is A bullshit hassle step at any website-
I tried it 5 times. 2 of those times it appeared correct.3 of the times it was so garbled with the scratchy line through it I wasn't sure... but definately not a meaningful step necessary... only an annoying hassle- I will not be visiting Hulu.com in the future....

To those saying they can't access it because they are outside of the US, I have one word for you: proxies. As for the site, I will have to check it out. Sounds interesting.
