iPhone Nano in the works?

24 December 2008 17:44 by Andre "DVDBack23" Yoskowitz | 6 comments

iPhone Nano in the works? According to MacRumors, the iPhone case manufacturer XSKN has labeled a category of their site iPhone Nano fueling more rumors that a Nano version of the popular phone is in the works.

XSKN gained some attention earlier this year when it began selling cases for the iPhone 3G that had yet to be released. In September, the company began selling cases for the unreleased 4th Generation iPod Nano. They have so far not produced any images of the rumored iPhone Nano, but their addition of a whole section for it has raised eyebrows.

We will keep you updated.

If they make a iPone nano can they actually make a new design instead of shrinking the original iPhone design.

i think they were selling a shrinked version of the cases.

and no they are not gonna change the design. i highly doubt it. what more can be changed? they will probably maybe reduce the memory size. though it could stay the same.

its just gonna be a smaller version of it. probably no 3G though. just edge and WIFI.

I really don't see any logical reason to do this. I'd imagine that if it were smaller it would be so much easier to drop it and for it to get "misplaced". The screen would also probably be easier to break because the smaller size of the glass would make it weaker.

I agree with you guys. The iPhone seems like the damn near perfect phone. It's hard to imagine any practical need to make it smaller. As a guy with large hands it's already a bit tricky to use most similar devices and I can't see making it smaller really helping this issue for me.

That said, you can't ignore that there is a HUGE market for smaller cell phones. It might not appeal to us, but it does appeal to a massive number of consumers out there. It seems to be the first thing they do with any successful cell phone. Though 21Q, I wouldn't worry about it getting misplaced. In an era where people are quite used to dealing with tiny iPod Nanos and Shuffles and even tinier bluetooth headsets, I'm fairly confident they can keep track of this device.

Maybe if they tied a string to one side of the Nano and tied the other side to their belt loop this would keep people from loosing them !
