Paramount Home Entertainment has started a new website which will allow fans of the film Paranormal Activity to have their names in the credits of the film when it is released on DVD and Blu-ray next year.
The site, ParanormalActivityProject.com is open until November 9th at midnight and anyone who registers will have their name shown at the end of the credits of the film.
“The success of Paranormal Activity would not have been possible without the million-plus fans who went to the ParanormalMovie.com official Web site and demanded the movie in their home town,” adds Amy Powell, Paramount senior VP of interactive marketing. “They demanded the movie, and they got it. So now we are giving them credit where credit is due.”
The movie, which cost $13,500 to make and has grossed $87.9 million domestically, is by far the most profitable movie (percentage-wise) of all time.
Paramount expects the extended credits to add up to 20 minutes to the film.

I wonder how many people will go for this...
I mean, you might have your name on something for a long, long time, but on the other hand, your name is on Paranormal activity. Shame everlasting. :X

"Paramount expects the extended credits to add up to 20 minutes to the film."
20 minues = 1,200 seconds = 36,000 frames @ 30FPS
100,000/36,000=2.78 names per frame.
At this rate, you will need slow motion to see your name...and who wants to watch 20 minutes of credits in slow motion?

That was early expectations, seeing so many names I can imagine it will be a lot longer now, maybe even up to an hour, which would just be nuts.

On a lot of TV shows you have credits that roll at light speed so am sure they'll cram in the names of all the people who fall for this nonsense. Then they can tell their friends 'i was an extra in the film' while their friends literally fall off the sofa from dizziness while watching the credits. It's like in the movie Demolition Man where the public of the future are so dumb that they listen to/watch the adverts instead of the actual radio/movies. What is the world coming to.

Dumb movie, but smart marketing . Those people may have not otherwise bought the DVD but will now...just to see their name.
Maybe they know the DVD sales aren't going to be that great after so many people fell for the marketing hype at the theaters. Hmmm...

That's like saying anyone one can have there name on a piece of crap.
But it's a successful piece of crap. It's like the Pope of crap! Imagine having your name eternally scarred into the body of a holy man!
Only, in this case, it's not a holy man, it's a gigantic deuce with a hype machine which earned about 91 million dollars worth of people suckered into it.

This might be the biggest piece of crap I ever watched. What a complete waste of my time. This could/should also go down as the biggest con job on the public ever. Can anyone honestly say this was a good movie? I'm mad I got conned and wasted a second of my time on this crap. To anyone who spends money, time or effort to see this piece of crap, I say demand a refund, yeah that's what I want, a freakin' refund of my money and my time.
