BlackBerry fail is now global

BlackBerry fail is now global After being hit with outages in Europe, Asia and Africa over the past few days, the BlackBerry outages have now hit home, with Canadian and U.S. users losing access to their email and messaging, as well.
RIM confirmed the outages:

BlackBerry subscribers in the Americas may be experiencing intermittent service delays this [Wednesday] morning. We are working to resolve the situation as quickly as possible and we apologize to our customers for any inconvenience. We will provide a further update as soon as more information is available.

Verizon, Bell Canada and AT&T all noted the outage as well, and said it was up to BlackBerry to fix the problem.

For now, users can expect to experience missed emails followed by flurries of emails as outages switch on and off.

The fact that you had to use all BB software for picture messaging, emailing, and all that always turned me off.

Thank goodness I am getting rid of BB on Friday. I have been having so many issues, both hardware and software lately.

Why does everything with the initials BB suck? BlackBerry, BlockBuster, BB&T, Big Brother, Barry Bonds...all terrible.

Have to agree with you there KB, although not familiar with BB&T. Like CNDLG said though, another nail in the coffin for RIM.

Has anything been confirmed about what the cause is? I've read a couple of articles and they say its not due to hacking or system breach, I find that hard to believe.

They got over 3 BILLION dollars in bailout money, then blamed the federal government who gave them these bailouts for their poor financial state after the bailouts...yet there were still able to buy up a ton of smaller, better banks that didn't need bailouts.

Damn, didn't know that. I guess we only hear about the BIG bailouts, thanks for the info.
