Clear Channel launches site for unsigned artists

27 September 2002 22:42 by Petteri "dRD" Pyyny | 2 comments

Clear Channel Communications, a world's largest radio station owner, has launched a new site aimed to promote music made by unsigned, new artists.

The helplessly difficult domain, ClearChannelNEWmusicNetwork.com will feature such artists pages and Clear Channel will promote these artists through its 1,200 radio stations and various other offline media.

Can anyone spell MP3.com or how does this sound like a not-that-new-idea, which has been tested by various companies already? Well, Clear Channel has the muscle to make it work anyway..

Well, I guess the more the merrier. I'd love to play in a band. I played the drums since I was 10 yrs old. The only problem for me is, I live in the Republic Of Ireland!!

Well that must explain it all. How many Irish bands have made it over the past 2 decades??? Not that many. There are no promoters here, and the ones that are here don't get you anywhere.

I come from a family with a musical background and have seen relation after relation play in bands for years. Most became well known in the country (except for a few very embarrasing moments!!!), but no matter how good they became and how much effort they made, they never got anything from it. If that were the U.S or the U.K it would be a totally different story.

So I think that is a pretty good idea to expand this on the net. Gives people a bit more of a chance to get heard (Sorry for the long boring message about my boring family in my boring country!!!!!!).

CLEAR AGAIN!!! THESE GUYS OWN JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING! This company is the reason concert ticket prices are SKY HIGH!

Watch out for these guys, they another "Micrsoft", and they are very "cut throat" They have stepped on a lot of people to get where they want to be.
I would trust them, about as far as i could throw a Battleship! There is a hidden "M.O." with this site.

WANTED: Need Two Tickets For "Beatles Concert", Must Have "CLEAR" View.
