I thought that DVD-Recordable.org was the source for that interview. CDRInfo just forget to mention it (nothing new)...
Well anyway. Here is little new info:
E-net that has those brands like Datawrite/Datasafe, RiDisc, Bulkpaq etc etc has also one "DVD media news" related website, do you know which one? Yes it's the DVD-recordable.org (nice articles about those E-net products)! BTW E-net also owns the domain www.ridisc.com. E-net rulez. :D

Quote: It didn't help that even Ritek themselves knowingly sold discs of lesser quality (even with their own brands) into the market to customers that didn't care about quality just as long as they made money.
This was a VERY stupid move by Ritek, this probably harmed and will continue to harm sales as people will be cautious and may think RiDisks could end up the same way.

TY bulks are not "that good", if you ment those? It's just a big hype. Yes those discs are good. Yes the TY dye is great, maybe even best in the market, but _very_ good disc need also something else than just a great dye ;)

Yeah, that is true. Well IMHO Ritek has never been "high quality media" just "cheap and good".

Yes, indeed. dvd-recordable.org is not an independent website. It's a marketig channel of E-net, and according to our sources the webmaster is an employee of E-net.

I like ritek blank media and i think this is a good move on there part.Things like this keep them on there toes and helps keep the quality up. So moral of the story SPEAK UP they WILL listen seems to work

I wonder what kind of inflated price these new *guaranteed AAA+ zero tolerance* discs will sell for. The extra price will be in exchange for not needing to be "in the know" about what other discs are just as quality.
I for one would rather just keep up on the brands/stores/manufacturer codes to get quality media. Further, I try to avoid paying extra money for anything that incorporates the word XTREME! into its name. We have about enough of all that as it is.

Tim Smith is only a puppet of Shafiq Rasul, you better ask Shaf about a comment.
http://www.ridisc.com/interview.htm
The "interview" was made up and initially published by E-Net on their Ridisc website. That's why there is no source mentioned. (If source now mentioned, then it is added and changed quickly after this post). www.cdrinfo.com only got paid by Shaf and copy/pasted the "interview" in its website.

Well whatever happens I'll not be using Ritek's of any kind in the near future. I'll pay that little extra and buy TDK's which have never failed me once...

Even though we are intimately linked with Ritek and have helped Ritek media become one of the most recognised discs in the market==yeah right better than there own brands i dont think so.
Even though we are intimately linked with Ritek and have helped Ritek media become one of the most recognised discs in the market==I doubt it Ritek have been around and became one of the most reconised long before Ridisc were on the scene.

huh? lol
They have 'maybe the best dye on the market', but you don't consider them "'that good'"? What else do you expect them to do, comp your joint and make you breakfast?

If you don't know difference between "bulk" media and branded media, then it's not my problem ;)
Branded media with TY dye (not fake) is a much better choice ;) That was my point. There is a better scratch resistance surface layer etc...
