DVDFab Decrypter updated to v2.9.2.2

14 July 2005 8:07 by James "Dela" Delahunty | 2 comments

Fengtao Software's free DVD ripper, DVDFab Decrypter has been updated to v2.9.2.2. This version comes with better support for Sony ARccOS protection removal, which is needed for some newer DVDs that have given problems. Here is the short changelog...

  • New: Command Line Switches added.
  • Change: Better Sony ARccOS protection removal.
  • Fix: Output files cannot be accepted by DVD Shrink and Nero Recode, when copying Sony ARccOS protected DVDs.

DVDFab Decrypter was released as a freeware ripper after the sudden halt in DVD Decrypter development. After DVD Decrypter development stopped, there was need for a freeware, frequently updated ripper, so Fengtao Software were nice enough to release this and another tool called Free DVD that can remove some protections from DVD folders on a HDD. DVDFab Decrypter is an excellent program for a freeware tool. It copies entire DVD movie to hard disk, and removes all the protections (CSS, RC, RCE, Macrovision, UOPs and Sony ARccOS) while copying.

In anyones opininon is this software living up to being equal if not better than that of DVD Decrypter.I realize it's a fairly new product but in this day and age if you're compared to something especially a top rated program such as DVD Decrypter that's mighty big shoes to fit.
