Virgin Media has denies that it has begin blocking the controversial Russian MP3 site, AllofMP3.com. The site, which is second most popular paid download site in the United Kingdom behind iTunes, sells tracks for only a fraction of the price of other "authorized" stores. The website has been highly criticized by the record industry and and US trade officials but insists it complies fully with Russian IP laws.
Virgin subscribers noticed recently that there were problems accessing AllofMP3 and jumped to the conclusion that Virgin had blocked the site. However, the company denied such a policy change. "One of our networks team tested this out for me and indeed we do seem to have a problem here - but we don't block the site, this looks like a fault. The technical support team are raising this now," said Alex Brown, the firm's broadband product manager.
No other ISPs in the UK appear to have a problem with AllofMP3. Russian president Vladamir Putin promised action against AllofMP3 parent company, Mediaservices, but the site still remains available and working (and cheap) to this day. U.S. trade officials have said that AllofMP3 is acting as an obstruction to Russia joining the World Trade Organisation (WTO).

This is bot going to stop the site and russia will eventually turn another blind eye to this and let it go back to their business. I don't see what the U.S problem is its not as if they are giving these files for free they are getting money for it other than that they can not help the rate they sell them at being how world currency prices differ world wide.

Lets starve a nation to death if they fail to conform to our laws, Americas law is global no matter where you live, well if America is going to lose a dime anywhere along the line but if its mass murder & genocide in Africa, America doesn't give a dam because they have no oil, natural gas or opium! welcome to the new world order.
thousands of ppl in Russia will suffer because of US blocking their entry in the name of the artists, what was live aid & live 8 about, I'm sure they are standing in line with the artists on this one?

At least they charge what users are willing to pay. It does get consumers in the mindset that they have to pay for the music as opposed to pirating it.

@ brk and all on virgin media.
the solution is to leave virgin media if they are blocking access to url's or they are not providing a service to sites you use, they may be a clause so you can escape you contract.
this is a good site to find info about uk isp's
http://www.thinkbroadband.com/
there is a list somewhere of uk isp's that throttle and block i will look it up asap.
ok try this "click start" type "cmd" in to the run box. then type "ping www.allofmp3.com" and then "tracert www.allofmp3.com" to see where the block is.
