Dell gets into consumer electronics

Written by Petteri Pyyny @ 25 Sep 2003 3:09 User comments (5)

Dell has announced that it will enter into consumer electronics markets with series of entertainment products.
Company will start selling LCD TVs and various other items -- but the most inetersting part is Dell's announcement to start manufacturing and selling portable digital audio devices. This added with the fact that company is going to launch its own digital audio store by the end of the year means definitely that one of the biggest PC makers is taking the path that Apple has chosen earlier.

Dell problly will have less problems. But that all depends on the name they choise. But this would be major compition for Apple's online Mp3's. Many people think that you need an Apple to use the apple service, Which I don't think is true. But with a PC based company, many people will hop on with out fear. Could cause Apple a lot of problems.

This is dumb, Dell doesent make any of the consumer electronics, their all re-badged products.
