One million posts in AfterDawn.com forums The one millionth post was made just a few minutes ago in the AfterDawn.com discussion forums. The discussion forums were opened in late March 2001, so it took about four and a half years to reach the 1,000,000 post milestone. Obviously the majority of the posts have been made during the past year. Meanwhile our Finnish forums, which are very active indeed, are 1,000 posts short of 300,000 messages.
AfterDawn.com currently has about 450,000 registered members. Since we launched our site back in 1999 we have served over 47 million software downloads and 2.5 million legal MP3 downloads through our sister site MP3Lizard.com.

Thanks go out to all our loyal visitors! Keep an eye on our site for new, exciting features we will be launching to all our members in the not-so-distant future.

it's probably me so what do i get Itune gave its 1,000,000th downloader free ipods free ibook, free imac, and free songs, i'm not very greedy or what just gave me extra 100posts hehehe (8_0)

Although I do know that aD does give away items (they have had contests in the past) I do not think the poster of the 1 millionth will get anything (maybe a T-Shirt?). I am not knocking anyone here but, dRD and Team would have probably announced something right before the millionth post or even in this News Article saying the 1,000,000th poster would/will get something. This is just my opinion, but, all I really wanted to say is: CONGRATULATIONS to dRD for writing this FABULOUS software and his great Moderators for keeping the site running Spam, Troll, Pest, etc. free!! I can't thank the aD Team enough!! A VERY dedicated member, Peace, Pop Smith

I will ask dRD to dig up the 1Mth post when he gets back online (on Monday). Due to the nature of the forums backend I can't provide that myself. As far as a prize for the millionth post goes ... We'll see. =)

Mention to the members themselves I believe is due. There are a nice bunch of guys that come to the forums and share their knowledge without interest. They are the collagen that holds the tissue together

When I started 3 years ago getting advice from your various forums I saved mega-minutes of time being put on hold from the companies that are supposed to provide information services "in a timely manner". Your groups treatment of 'newbies' is excellent. Thank You 'afterdawn.com' ph

Good going guys! But with 450,000 registered users, am I the only one that thinks it seems a little low? It just goes to show how many n00bs, leechers and spammers have passed through here :(

Lethal_B: You need to remember that people might create user account for reasons other than using our forums, such as receiving software update notifications, posting software reviews, receiving our weekly newsletter, etc. And that millionth post, I'll dig that data tomorrow and post it here...

Yes, fair point dRD, never thought of that. In fact, the software is probably the main reason people join this site. There is a huge & evergrowing library :)

This IS a great site. I don't get to post much because 1. I work alot of hours and 2. most question are answered so fast by all here. BUT I do read quite alot of the post and pass the info along to friends and family who are in need. I have sent dozens of friends to this site because of the wealth of information that is shared here. 1,000,000 post is alot of information shared freely. Pretty cool.

The millionth post: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/255303#1435644 So, we apparently announced the 1M few hours too early, but this is due how the post counters work -- due the technical and server limitations, automatic counters don't remove all the "invalid" messages from figures, but are close enough. The post above by kivory666 is counted in a way that all posts deleted/hidden threads are removed, posts in non-public forums are removed, deleted/hidden posts are removed and then the millionth message has been scanned (took 5 minutes for database to run that query..). But yep, congrats kivory666 for making the 1,000,000th post to our forums :-)

hehehe..YAY~! so where is my lollipop AD? LOL well, i'm glad that my contribution of the 1,000,000th post here on AfterDawn basically summarizes the Taiyo Yuden mantra i've been preaching round on here~ :) that post was solely to help the member distinguish between GENUINE/AUTHENTIC Taiyo Yudens from the fakes~! @darthnip, well, becoming one of my patients, perhaps i might consider prescribing you some Grey Goose rather than typical pharmaceutical medication~ :) if you ever in my neck of the woods, i have PLENTY of Grey Goose, Level 1, and Belvedere here at my house :) take your pick and make your doctor's visit quite enjoyable~ @drD thanks for the kudos~ AfterDawn has helped me so much since i became a member, i hope my contributions have been helpful to those that need it in regards to dvd media~ :) ooooh, do i get that special AfterDawn T-shirt the mods were talking about in the past? that would be sweet~ :) thanks to everyone else that brought this to my attention and for the kind words, that would be very sad indeed if i were banned for being the 1,000,000th post~ :) but it would be hilarious~! good day to you all~ docTY~
