Microsoft will bring E3 HD videos to XBL

Written by Andre Yoskowitz @ 06 Jul 2007 6:21 User comments (17)

Microsoft will bring E3 HD videos to XBL For the 4 day period of July 10th to July 13th, Microsoft will be making E3 related videos available in HD on Xbox Live.
The new revamped E3 event will be much less accesible than in past years and so Xbox 360 owners should be happy with the move.

Along with the announcement, Microsoft released a list of the downloadable HD content that would be available directly from the event. The list, as presented at Dailytech,

* Microsoft’s E3 2007 press conference — beginning at 8:30 p.m. PDT on Tuesday, July 10 — will be available on Xbox LIVE Marketplace in high definition later in the week
* Video updates direct from the show
* A selection of game trailers, themes, gamer pictures and demos will be available from the hottest E3 titles such as these:
* “Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation” (NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc.)
* “Assassin’s Creed” (Ubisoft)
* “BioShock” (2K)
* “Blue Dragon” (Microsoft Game Studios)
* “Burnout Paradise” (Electronic Arts Inc.)
* “CALL OF DUTY 4: MODERN WARFARE”(Activision)
* “FIFA Soccer 08” (Electronic Arts)
* “Guitar Hero III” (Activision/RedOctane)
* “Lost Odyssey” (Microsoft Game Studios)
* “Madden NFL 08” (Electronic Arts)
* “NCAA Football 08” (Electronic Arts)
* “Need for Speed: ProStreet” (Electronic Arts)
* “Project Gotham Racing 4” (Microsoft Game Studios)
* “The Simpsons Game” (Electronic Arts)
* “Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08” (Electronic Arts)
* “WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008” (THQ)

Will PlayStation 3 owners get the same treatment?

All the demos/trailers i have downloaded from XBLive have been free. that is the point of the demos/trailers, is to make them free to give you a taste of what the full game is like, so you go out and buy the full game. clearly you did not think before you wrote your post.

Nothing New Sony is doing this also.......LMAO

SCEA has revealed its plans to offer PlayStation Network coverage of the E3 Media & Business Summit.

Consumers will be able to download E3 content onto their PS3 consoles directly from the PlayStation Store, including the entire SCEA press conference to be held on July 11th. A variety of game trailers, videos, and other editorial content from the show will also be made available.

In addition to the downloadable content available through the PlayStation Network, consumers can follow E3 2007 through daily content on Playstation.com and the official PlayStation Blog.

Cool. I was hoping that they would do it again this year after last year's success. The XBox Live coverage of E3 2006 was awesome & the marketplace updated quickly - often within minutes of news breaking on the show floor. Plus all of the demos were available for download at the same time as people at the actual show got the opportunity to play.

Yeah i know the demos/trailers are free, i meant the video footage of the E3(interviews, presentations,ect), seeing as they charge in XBL for the Game Head episodes wich don't really say much.

Clearly you did not think enough before you wrote your post.

The fact of the matter is that HD Video is going to be brought out whether or not you want it to be on XBox or Playstation. The format is going to want to be as widley spread as it can get.
