acutally, sony would like to sell more ps3 because that is the way they work.. they get profit by selling software/games and accessories.the reason why that wii outsold ps3 is that the wii is much cheaper and the control make gamer wanna buy it, but i am sure ps3 will raise its sale when the major games r out like MGS4 and Assasian Greed, etc.............

the problem is that console games now are trying to copy pc games but they just don't cut it. so why is the wii winning, because the games are fun and fun for all the family not just the sad spotty teenager that locks himself away in his room for days on end because he has got to "just do this bit" or "finish this level" before he can return to reality.

most serious games have a pc, why would you want to purchase a scaled down version of a game on a console, when you can have the best experience on a pc?

umm for starters you don't have to install anything, you dont need to make sure your PS3 has the right requirements to play the game! ease of use and ability to take around to friends place's easer and hook up to their TVs, and many more reasons I'm not even going to bother mentioning, i admit that computers run games much better, but some of us cant be bothered with the hassle of up-dating it every week when a new graphics card comes out and required to play the new games at the "scaled up version"!

Bwahahaha funny that cuz if you talk about PC then there's absolutely 100% no point for M$ to make an Xbox360...because like 99% of their games are either on PS3 or PC. M$ cant keep an exclusive because they NEED to make it for PC as well which i really dunno why they do that.
And im sure PS3 doesnt want to be like a PC..why would they wanna make a console just for a bunch of sports and shooter games?

and yea like JorDogg said about upgrading etc. PC can be complicated and more expensive. Whenever a good game comes out you gotta buy a newer graphics card to maintain its smooth playability. That is another reason why alot of ppl choose console over PC as well. Best part about console..no viruses. So if your comp is messed up you mite have to reformat it then reinstall all your apps and games over again. Hearing that is already sounds like a hassle. Anybody knows that a PC can out top a console game in visuals etc. But wat good are the visuals if ppl dun wanna play those pc games and wants to play the console games thats ONLY on console. Such as MGS4,FFXIII,Kingdom Hearts..i'd like to name sum Xbox360 games but why'd M$ gotta make GoW into PC lol

see thats the anti pc and the ppl that couldn't figure out how to go to a web page and download the latest drivers brigade talking.

if you cannot figure out what vga card you have its probably best you stick to a console but seems you purchased the pc and want to use it for games its probably intelligent to actually realise whether you have an ati or nvidia card and the model number!

as for constant updates of hardware, its a complete fallacy, as games are usually 2 years behind the hardware and in all pc games you have the option to reduce the performance lv a reasonable pc will last longer than the 4 to 5 year cycle of a console before you need to even think to update your vga (graphics card) which for a mid priced one is about $100, and before you start saying but the quality is reduced its not, it simply stays at the level of your pc, exactly the same as a consul but drivers are tweaked with a pc that allows better performance out of older hardware. scare tactics such as malware and viruses are just that, a pathetic attempt to get ppl to purchase software.

as for the 360/ps3, they both aspire to be a pc and run games as well as a pc but they never will, you think home or final fantasy were programmed on a ps3 do you? lmao!

all consoles are doing atm is taking the game ideas from pc titles such as WoW(world of warcraft), black and white, command and conqure, secondlife, counter strike, UT, all the games started on a pc then re-marketed onto a console.

So are you saying that you are too ignorant to protect your PC from viruses, or that you use the FREE software that is available?

Anyways, I would much rather sit on my cozy couch or recliner and play games on my HDTV and learn 4-8 button combos than sit at a desk with a smaller screen and program macros into a keyboard IMHO.

i use kaspersky as i'm gullible ovbiously! in the last 7 years i have only every had 1 virus that was sent in a phishing email from natwest bank. how 26r0cK implies is that the net is rife with viruses but its not the case and with firefox with the noscript and addblock+ add-ons you don't even end up with doubleclick on your pc and a whole host of other annoying stuff. there are free antivirus like avg or avast that are as good as most retail antivirus scanners out there.

you are aware that you can plug your pc into any screen and use bluetooth controllers just the same arn't you? or you can pick up a notebook like the dell xps that is more powerful than either the ps3 or 360 and has an inbuilt 1920x1200 17" hd monitor that gives resolutions higher than 1080p, and you can play that on the beach or in central park via the free wireless network that are cropping up all over the world!

a pc rendering more than ps3 that would be a 1000$ dollare pc wich will sux by the end of the year cuz pc get lame really fast anyway.

wii is outselling the ps3 and os is the 360 why cuz they have more games, the thing is how much will the wii and 360 will be able to hold since they are currently used 95% of their capcacity this means that as time goes bye when games are 400gig or with lots of great features this consoles will not be able to handle stuff anymore, i think at the end of the race you see who won and who didn't, cuz saying wii rocks is less than a year and you are saying it won when indeed this races last for about 5 years, numbers at that time will show up the reall winner and i think it's gonna be the ps3

don't make the mistake of thinking that pc's can get worse with age as this is the common diversion tactic of the console makers, a pc, just as a console is at a certain level of ability, but as games on pc's progress much faster than consoles a pc appears to look dated and not able to play at full resolution of 1900 by 1200 at max settings, because of the play and throw away nature of a console because it cannot be upgraded, pc's appear to need updates, BUT and this is the BUT all pc games enable you to reduce the effects so you can set it to your pc capabilities.

please dont start saying that games look poor on old pc's because they don't as with a console they are at a certain lv but with driver tweakes and overclocking a pc can perform well out its specifications.

Anyhow, yeah, most PC games can be played on a Pentium III with 256mb of memory (like the Rollercoaster Tycoon games, etc.) Sims 2 bumped it up to a P4 and 512mb, which means unless you bought a "Dell Special" for $399, you should be pretty safe for a couple of years.

On the high end of course, if you want to play FPS games that make $6000 scream, then you might want a better PC. In all, the console experience can turn out to be cheaper in the long run and is easier for most people to use.

The lines between PC and consoles will continue to bleed, especially with consoles having the ability to play movies and also browse the web, etc.

but that was my point for serious games you would use a pc for the ultimate experience and because the ps3 price is at mid lv prices of pc's or just reaching a higher spec one if you can build it yourself intelligent ppl would choose the pc over the ps3, and then for the fun aspect of gaming own a wii. the ps3 is in a kind of no mans land which is why the wii is dominating worldwide and the ps3 is failing to shift many units, add the fact that 3rd party publishers are dropping titles for the ps3 and concentrating on the ds and wii sends a signal out to the market!

PC gaming,been there done that and it's not the be all of gaming at all.Consoles have come a long way and games like Bioshock can chug on a medium PC compared to a console which is cheaper and easier to live with.Updating drivers,tuning the cpu,memory,gpu,patching a game and everything else gets boring after a few months when all you want to do is switch on,and play.
Vista is a mess when it was promised to push gaming forward,what with incompatibilty problems with drivers,etc.So PC gamers either dual boot to XP which is a pain or suffer the instability of Vista.
Then there is the boring KB and Mouse argument,well consoles can do that now but most won't because no-one wants to swap their comfy couch to a desk.More detailed and faster graphics ain't enough to make all the difference either.Consoles are proving their worth with HD visuals,physics,AI,5.1 sound and fun controllers that provide more than enough fun for any gamer.
PC gaming,old skool,bit like break-dancing,it was cool once upon a time but it's so fu##in' dated now.I'd rather have all 3 consoles than a top build PC any day of the week.

i have a x6600gt with is not the best but is good a 22 inch samsung screen and a core duo processor i can play games just fine but the computer wich i bought 2 years ago can't even run most wanted like it should, For example nfs most wanted on 128 mb card OK on 256 Card nice , then on carbon 128mb - bad 256 ok and 512 nice then pro street will require even more. and that's unfair to spend all that money on a videocard wich at the end will stuck you in the past.
the ps2 can run both games properly. I a admit that pc gaming is better cuz i expirienced it with my pc ,but you have to update all the time with the new driver the new card the new processor the new update the new bug fix , just saying console is gaming more stable in every way. and from a $$$ point of view is way better

There is nothing like Halo 3 on a 42" plasma and 5.1 surround... well acctualy there is... Halo 3 on a 103" plasma and 9.1 surround..., but even PC gamers can't afford that setup:D

Thousands of Counter Strike players disagree, as well as MMORPG gamers.
As for the advanced setup, you can get a top of the line PC with a clear as crystal flatscreen VGA moniter with surround sound speakers, a sub woofer, and an assload of other stuff for less than an HDTV.
