the xbox 360 sales will not grow, even if new exclusives come out for it, there wont be many buyers

Operation Get Wii:

I still haven't been able to pick one of these up. I've started a mission to find one. I go into all the local stores near my work everyday and ask if they have them, no luck.

"Sorry, we just sold our last one yesterday." "But I came in here yesterday and you said you didn't have any!?!"

"Sorry, we are all sold out. We haven't received any in two weeks."

I refuse to pay 100-200 dollars more for these on CL!

the 360 is just poorly designed its like windows with super heavy DRM to keep you from wanting to use it.

i Would support America by buying American made products, trick is finding A product made in America in America,the only thing i can think of is our Agriculture Industree.

I wish it would be less gimmicky, gave more control options and had enough games to make it more than a gimmick....then again whos the gimmick a system built for mindless power or the system built for mindless fun*rolls eyes*.

Ill take mindless power seems to be whats available in the USA, Example PS3,Xbox360,& the Atari 2600 with a one button controler, now thats power.

They like TBS and some RTS but mostly RPG's and action games and like party games.

The US likes shooters,action RTS RPGs and such.
Lets just face it if you have a simi modern med range game PC you don't need the 360 and its excess fees and hardware failures.

Shooters are fun for a while...

BUT THEN THEY GET SO DAMN BORING!

I played R:FOM for 2-3 straight weeks, and now I don't even touch it. And all shooters are the same. Kill the enemy. Nothing origional. One always copies the other these days...

If you think all FPshooters are the same you must not have played BIOSHOCK on xbox360. I think it is really sad that americans will be honest enough with themself to buy a videogame, car (toyota,honda,etc...)and other items from the asians but they hold their pride on their shoulders and dont give xbox a fair shot just b/c it is american and they may not have liked it the firt go around. I was sony all the way and had no plans to ever try microsoft gaming. But i got tired of waiting on the ps3 to make some decent games and inprove on its weak library of games subpar graphics given what many software developers say the ps3 is really capable of. Sony claimed the ps3 would blow the xbox 360 out of the water graphic wise and they would have the best library of games but i was still waiting for that day to come. So i went out and bought an xbox 360, man was it hard to bring that ugly box in my house. But you know what, i love it and i am glad i gave it an unbiased chance. I dont care who makes the product. If i like it i will buy it and not look at it by saying it is foreign. I own a toyota and a Nissan and have had plenty of GMs and a mazda in the past.

you have to keep in mind that the ps3 is still early in progression. its like comparing ps2 games, from NBA 2k to NBA 2k8. HUGE DIFFERENCE, and still on the same counsel. i believe that they just havent used the ps3 potential.

Bioshock is a meek FPS Cryisis has alil more polish on it but my god Bioshock is watered down,its a real console FPS like deus ex 2 was....

I come from a era of when FPSs were almost adventure based look at the mid and late 90's shooters when you play a shooter that not only has size but fun you get quickly bored of the new gun and run theme dominating todays FPSs.

Now dose this mean BS is a gun and run FPS....it dose have above average level design however compared to the past its meek,gameplay is very streamlined and simplified lacking any real depth that with the limited AI and broken PC mouse it makes its over all experience lack luster, if they didn't nerf the gameplay mechanics for the masses BS might be a 12....

All in all Fear would be the better FPS of the last few years and Dark Messiah of the adventure/RPG FPS lot.

Anyhow, yeah, how much more innovation is there for FPS? Bioshock had some innovative ideas. The story and graphics really made the game. Other games like The Darkness are really frustrating ripoffs. Then you have a million different war shooters, either WWII or "Modern/Futuristic" sims. Aside from COD4 (especially multiplayer) what type of innovation do these games bring? Nothing new to see here since the days of Goldeneye/Perfect Dark and Doom/Quake.

The Wii really isn't that much of a gimmick... Nintendo just doesn't have the grapefruits to prevent crap like "Pony game" or "Undersea Adventure" or "Misabused Movie License" to come out for their system, so they get a bad rap.

After trying to fix 5 of them friends had and borrowed one for 6 months I don't need to own it to know what its capable of it has a very high fail rate.

FPS have been moving back in innovation the last one I played to be highly innovative was Dark messiah the rest are shallow cloned spawns of their main series, DOOM and quake are movies now and bioshock is a lack luster retard version of system shock, Crysis is pretty much far cry with a suit.

Most FPSs use the lets not try anything lets be "safe" bland and tried routine and some like Jericho make you wonder if they are snorting the same cocaine the movie industry has on hand for its crapfests.

FPSs were once more adventurous like in the mid 90s sprite based titles had large well built maps even Quake,HL and Unreal was good then they started to not use water parts of levels and got ultra lazy on layouts in the 2K's things got worse the more realism the forced into them.

i only want a WII for Super Smash bwral, and the only real reason i decide to get a WII was ether i upgrade My 2 HD2900 Crossfire to HD3800 or, got somthing to waste more of my life on. the WII fit the waste of life bill perfectly.

Good luck all finding them. I only say that because I had luck brush my direction for a change. Walked into a Bestbuy about 6 months ago at random to go buy a DVD and a little white 8 1/2 X 11 piece a paper said "Wiis in stock". When I asked if it was for real, the door guy said "yeah, about 15 right over there". Went to check and voila......about 15. I love the thing but only play once in a blue moon. I never buy games for it and just rent. Got ethernet for it, new 3rd party wireless sensor bar, classic controller for Mario Kart 64 and two nunchuk controllers. Way fun and worth the purchase.

If you want one then you actually need to ask a Bestbuy or Circuit city employee (that cares about answering you legitimately) about when they may get some. Often............they will have an idea OR, if your timing is right then they'll know exactly when. I missed a couple opportunities at first this way and forgot to set alarm to wait outside stores on the day they told me about them coming in.

Now if you take a look at the best games of 2007 you will see some pc games in the list but how many are exclusive only to pc. The gaming consoles have a larger popularity with the exclusives.

I think he's partly right... Like how many good games on a 360 can you NOT find on a PC? How many of those games were PC-first and then 360?

I do agree with the xbox 360 and pc games but actually the serious gamers dont play pc. Most of the serious gamers prefer the video game console and serious video game players dont worry about graphics so that actually makes a pc obsolete. Shallow gamers are the ones that say that graphics make the game and are more important than gameplay and funfacter. A hardcore gamer is one who still takes time to play the very first Zelda. If you have to rely on a pc power only you are not a serious gamer. A hardcore gamer will play on pc,wii,ps3,xbox 360. You see the gamer who only plays PC games is limiting himself to a narrow selection of games. That was my point to the guy for such a shallow comment.

Oh man.............this comment was made by a 'no brainer' Good GOD, what is the world coming to. PC gaming sets the standard...........PERIOD. Console gaming is originally made and geared for youngsters so they could grasp the ease of use regarding the controller and simply pressing ONE FRAKKIN' BUTTON to get it up and running. It has since evolved but PC gaming is the standard, has the BEST graphics and the ONLY REASON that consoles have so many games that aren't available on the PC is because of this simple reason................SONY owns the PS and Microsoft owns the XBOX. NOBODY OWNS THE PC as there are many manufacturers and let's not forget custom builds. I do agree with the later post regarding "serious gamers" that play ALL THE SYSTEMS BUT the most serious gamers are PC peeps. One example is Half Life and HL@. GAME OF THE YEAR and it's on PC only. Only recently has HL come out on the consoles because the developer regocnized the MONETARY POTENTIAL. Consoles are driven by profits, sales and money; PC games are driven by HARD CORE GAMERS. Sadly Console are the standard now because it sells software better than the PC, ID and Epic have already went fully console, value sales its own software online so the PC gets alil more attention but the OB was not released that much later on them thus they too have gone console.

Only a few devs and pubs do not fool with the console mainly do to cost of porting it.

the hollywoodization of gaming is near complete,tho I hope more companies improve themselfs like capcom has...I doubt it...

i take issue with several things said up there.
might be just because i could never afford a gaming pc
when i was first getting big into gaming.

You prove my point exactly. You admit that pc doesnot get all the majority of the games and that is my point. You are limiting yourself to a few select games if you choose to play pc only. A serious hardcore gamer would never limit himself now would he. Second my son, 4 years old, has enough pc games(Dragontales), spiderman, etc... and by the way he has been playing them since he was 3 actually. Gaming is all about preference and just bc you or someone else plays most of their games on pc doesnot make you any more of a gamer than the next person. In my opinion If i have all 3 next generation systems, and desktop and 2 laptops. I play a broader spectrum of games than yourself. Everyconsole has it gamers for youngsters so dont think PC doesnot they have a hell of a lot. Most of my friends are around 30ish own all the major console and a pc or 2 and we love play games peroid. Doesnot matter the console.
Last i say on thing to you gaming was put on the map by a console not a pc. Nintendo took popularity to another level..I am aware and played atari and coleco but nintendo put gaming on the map.

the PC upgrade was cheaper at the time than even a 360 premium and I sure as hell refuse to pay 400$ for a broken 360 with a whole 6 games that are not on PC.

I know crysis has the best graphics to date but I would not exactly call Bioshock watered down and crysis alil more polished. Bioshock is just as great a game if not better in some peoples opinion. Check out reviews on Gamepro,Electronic Gaming Monthly,and IGN.com Bioshock has higher review scores than Crysis does. Not much higher but my point is made as to the watered down and a little more polished comment I think bioshock is a better game than COD4. Lets be real COD4 does get a boost in hype from its online play features and popularity d/t war games being a big thing b/c of the war in iraq. COd4 also sees more popularity d/t the simple fact that it is a sequel unlike Bioshock whose name only came to extreme popularity this last year. Cod4 alreay had a gerat reputation behind its name that would also contribute to its sells and popularity. Not saying COD4 is not great but in the actual 1 player mode i prefer Bioshock over Cod4. Now with the online play included into the picture yeah COD4 should be game of the year even if bioshock does outscore it on reviews as well. All the games in the top could be argued on as Game of the year b/c everyone is different in what they like.

As they said in the nursery rhy,e. Nintendo went weeeeeeeee all the way home with a smile on its face :)

I know crysis has the best graphics to date but I would not exactly call Bioshock watered down and crysis alil more polished. Bioshock is just as great a game if not better in some peoples opinion. half those "reviews" are influenced by publishers or didyou forget the Kayne and lynch debalcail?
So I discount them almost completely becuse they are mainstream focused not kepign the industry aware its its fall from grace.

Biosock is half assed and unfinished and the PC port is a fcking joke, sorry but I find the presudo equipment/inventory replacement system (plasmids) is under developed as is the weapon mod system and elvel design, what part of "real console FPS" do you not understand its dues ex 2 all over again.

Even Dark messhia is slightly better because they worked on the gameplay and level design more than Bioshock did, BS is a tossed together FPS with heavily raped AI and RPG themes,its a disgrace to the FPS/FP RPG genre.

As a shooter its just another 5/6 mediocre title.

As for Crysis being "better"... when it comes to polish on engine and control the game just offers loads more polish, when it comes down to gameplay its no worse than BS I give it about a 6 mainly due to repetitively, sure tis a open sand box game but theres noting new outside a few cliche weapons without evolving ability's and more gadgets to spice up gameplay its just another run of the mill shooter.

but crysis's true game experince lie's within MP maps.

and crysis was a test more than anything,too see if they could polish the old sandbox engine,and keep it for the upcoming FARCRY2.
they didn't however Redeveloped the sandbox engine, sandbox2.

in any case have you a computer that can run it, pick up crysis good game better Multi-Play.

meh I ran Cryisis easier on a older computer than UT3...so meh,

My point with Cry V BS is BS was a casual focused game poorly deved outside that focus(th4 PC version is broken and has locked keys and what not what moron makes a PC game that dose not bind to anything you toss at it?),Cryisis is not without faults but at least the devs took the time to build the options and controls right.

BS is just pooed out with garlering issues and no one seems to bat an eye or worse yet right off poor and questionable gameplay mechanics as "oh we are not a RPG any more" or "look its a new game with SS2 under tones we can;t hate it".......



and ya I am hating the world about right now too :P
