Xbox 360 price cuts confirmed for Europe After days of rumors, Microsoft has officially confirmed that the Xbox 360 gaming console will be receiving a price cut in Europe.
Beginning September 19th, the lower end Arcade model will drop to GBP 129.99/EUR 179.99, the Premium model will drop to GBP 169.99/EUR 239.99 and the higher capacity Elite will drop to GBP 229.99/EUR 299.99.

"Xbox 360 has now sold over 20 million consoles worldwide and due to its unprecedented success, we are now able to pass on the rewards of that success to the consumer with a new retail pricing from £129.99,"
noted Neil Thompson, senior regional director for Microsoft UK.

"With more games, more entertainment with Xbox Live and now even more value, we are looking forward to welcoming more customers into the leading next generation console, Xbox 360."

£129.99... Looks like I was only £5 out with my estimate that they should be £125..(working on an exchange rate of 80p to the dollar.. being generous there too.. it's more like 58p) still screwing us it seems.

You've got to remember our price includes VAT whereas US price has local sales tax (varies but 6% in Florida) to add to the price.

So $200 + 6% = $212

Exchange at 1.7 to the £ = £124.70.

I call that fairly reasonable, Sony/Nintendo are you watching.

that reasoning is completely rubbish, we're lowering the price to let more people into our Xbox 360 community basically, it's because they are threatened by Nintendo Wii's complete superiority and PS3's upandcoming sales, Microsoft may have considered the price, but it doesn't change that it's as (or more) unrealiable as an iPod... (average life around... 6-8 months?). i think development of a new console would be in Microsoft's interest, as they can easily fix everything wrong with the 360 in a few modifications.

unless the Xbox 360's errors are fixed, the price wont matter, i wont buy it... just stick to my PS3... (vaule for money, is better.... come on!)
