Google sets press gathering for January 5th The Nexus One Android smartphone seems to be all but confirmed today after Google began sending out invites for a press gathering on January 5th.
The event will be focused on the Android operating system, and there is still a chance that the release could be NOT for the Nexus One, but those chances seem pretty slim, at best.

So if all that info is right, no Google phone for Verizon users...but I guess they have the Droid.
