Redbox agrees to wait 28 days for Warner releases

Redbox agrees to wait 28 days for Warner releases Following in Netflix's footsteps, rental giant Redbox has agreed to wait 28 days before making new Warner releases available via their kiosks.
The delay will give Warner's "retail partners a period of exclusivity," which the studio hopes will help offset continued declines in DVD sales as well as give VOD a better chance at succeeding.

"The 28-day window for Redbox balances the economics of our relationship while continuing to offer great value to their customers," adds Warner Home Video president Ron Sanders. "This accord establishes a mutually beneficial relationship that will foster an ongoing and productive partnership."

With the agreement, Warner and Redbox have dropped any pending lawsuits against each other, as well.

this is the biggest BS I've ever seen. I already have to wait 1-2 months on New Releases from Netflix and all it says on my account;
short wait
Very long wait
etc.

so now add a extra 28 days and now you are telling me I would have to wait 2-3 months for a new release movie.

Am I wrong or are some of you idiots thinking this is ok. I can't believe how stupid some people's thought process are thinking that it's ok we pay for a service and now they want to take it away from us... and be happy with hit.

So I have to use Netflix for catalogue items and go to Black Bastards or Hollywood screw Video for new releases. I can't believe some of you are agreeing to this, what's wrong with you?

If Netflix does this, I will immediately cancel my subscription the day I hear it has happened and tell my friends and family members about thinking to cancel their subscriptions too. I love watching New Releases and I'm tired how long I currently have to wait for a new movie, it really sucks that it takes this long and now you want to add more time to it.

Here's a good analogy for you: If a prisoner is on good behavior and is set to be release 2010, should you add more time to his prison service by adding an additional year... no, you let him go on good behavior for original date, you don't punish him by adding more time.

It's not an extra 28 days, Netflix has same deal in place as Redbox. And to be honest, there is nothing we can do about it. Warner is greedy so it's pretty much this: NO new Warner releases, ever or a 28 day delay window. Pretty easy decision for the rental companies.

Netflix already does this so you better go ahead and cancel your membership... I know I already did because of it.

I don't see why you call others idiots and stupid when you cannot come up with an analogy that actually fits. The release date of an inmate and the release date of a movie are two totally different things you dolt. Plus your grammar sucks.

Here is an analogy for you...YOU are like a whiney 10 year old little boy who can't have ice cream because he didn't finish all his dinner.

I will always wait for Redbox before I pay the outrageous prices at
Blockbuster or elsewhere. When I can't wait I can always download them before their released.
