Reminder: Sony PlayStation Network will be down as of 3PM today Sony has sent out a friendly reminder to PSN users this weekend, reminding them that the service will be down for maintenance.
The scheduled maintenance will begin at 3PM EST and will end at 5AM tomorrow morning.

Originally, the maintenance had been planned for Thursday but Sony ended up delaying it.

Says the company: "Unlike typical maintenance events, consumers who are already signed-in to PSN will be signed-out, and consumers will be unable to sign in for the duration of the maintenance window. During this time, users won't be able to access the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Home, Account Management or play online. PSN enabled websites will not be able to service users, including this one."

"...because we've been hit again & need the time to close the barn door despite the horses getting out. Plus we need the additional time to make up a clever excuse to deny the security breech ever happened (again) again..." signed, you weird uncle Louie at PSN.

And whatever you do, DON'T take any more of their valuable educational attributes!!! We wouldn't want to see a downturn in those by any stretch of the imagination would we!

I didn't know either. I came here to see if afterdawn had the scoop on why they were also down. What sucks is that they should'a done maintenance on regions first this way I could play using my japanese account while north america was being worked on. shhheesh.

Down due to scheduled maintenance? Wow this is rare.. Usually it is down because it was hacked. Well at least the hacking outages seemed to have happen more than scheduled outages.
