U.S. official: Other nations engaging in 'reckless' cyber attacks According to a top U.S. cybersecurity official, other nations have been employing 'reckless' cyber attacks without 'any sense of restraint.'
Debora Plunkett of the secretive National Security Agency (NSA), says that such behaviors were not seen even during the height of the Cold War: "We're starting to see nation-state resources and expertise employed in what we would characterize as reckless and disruptive, destructive behaviors. Some of today's national cyber actors don't seem to be bound by any sense of restraint."

The official also predicted that Congress would pass a cybersecurity legislation within the next year, following failed attempts such as CISPA and SOPA.

Officials in the Obama administration have long accused China, Russia and others of hacking or attempting to hack U.S. computer networks for espionage, corporate secret stealing or other economic gain. On the other hand, the U.S. has been accused of helping Israel to launch cyber attacks on Iran in an effort to derail their nuclear program.

That's what they do best...and SOPA never had anything to do with security. They want to limit the internet to what Bell Labs imagined in the 1970's for everyone except themselves.

What scares the hell out of me is there is no context to which the NSA is directing their allegations.

WTF is Russ talking about? Simple, the NSA is saying other nations are conducting cyber attacks with "employing 'reckless' cyber attacks without 'any sense of restraint".

I don't know about you guys, but in the theater of combat the purpose of defeating one's enemy is the ability to release one's restraint in order to obtain control & then reimpose restraint once the objective has been over powered.

Glutenous corporate credit card information stolen, government servers seized & homepages taken over if not knocked out altogether... Seems to me like 'job one' was completed with flying colors.

The NSA already flies under the radar with the CIA, Homeland Security & I wouldn't doubt that the FBI has probably been tainted to a heavy degree given our fear factor since 9/11 & the Patriot Act. We need to take back our voice & our country.

The voices of the few are speaking the masses. If you think I'm lying, just look at the class imbalance. You can shake your head & spew venom all you wish, but it's global & people are starting rebel. Obviously, violently in some cases.

Another piece of paper to let another government witch hunting organization play Judge Dredd all legal like with no handler is not going to make the problem go away.

If indeed there is quite the problem they say there is.
