32GB Nexus 7 now official and available

32GB Nexus 7 now official and available Even though it was made available unofficially at Staples last week, it appears the Google Nexus 7 is finally official and widely available.
Office Depot and Gamestop are offering the tablet at $249, replacing the price point of the 16GB model. The 16GB has seen a price drop to $199, with the 8GB model being discontinued.

The spec sheet did reveal one surprise, however, and that is the version of Android. Most speculated it would run the upcoming 4.2 right out of the box, but the specs say 4.1.2.

It is likely that 4.2 is coming, very soon, as Google was supposed to unveil the update at their press event on Monday. That has since been postponed due to the incoming Hurricane Sandy.

Additionally, the search giant is expected to unveil the Nexus 4 smartphone and the Nexus 10 full-sized tablet at the event.

Yeah your comment sure has a lot to do with the 32GB Nexus 7 FrenchSmith.

199 seems like a pretty good price for that 16GB tablet, I might have to pick one up.
@JST, this isn't the only thread Frenchy's been spamming.

You should all get used to fact that anything Nexus will not have an SD slot.

If you want an SD slot, get something else that isn't a Nexus device.

My thinking entirely.
It's their own fault, it would cost pennies to fix but 'the cloud' just isn't reliable or covering enough area to attract me to choose any tablet/device which will only give a small amount of storage (and sorry but 32gb is small these days) & expect me to depend on it.

No biggee.
I will just spend my money with one of the Chinese makers about to start putting out dual/quad core devices with excellent HD screens @ about 1/3rd the price which aren't gimped & which can give me the option of added micro sd card storage @ 32gb minimum.
