Written by Andre Yoskowitz @ 21 Jan 2013 11:33

Samsung confirms 8-inch Galaxy Note tablet Samsung has confirmed that they will be unveiling an iPad Mini challenger at next month's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The device has been rumored, and will be a smaller version of the popular 10.1-inch Galaxy Note tab offered by the company.

Samsung mobile head JK Shin did not offer any other details on the tablet, but there have been previous leaks.

If accurate, the tablet will have its 8-inch display with 1280 x 800 resolution, run on Android 4.2, have a quad-core processor and dual cameras.

The tablet will include the stylus seen in the larger Note tablets and the Note smartphones. Perhaps more importantly, the device is rumored to be cheap, perhaps hitting a price point as low as $199 compared to Apple's iPad Mini at $329 for the base model.
