Why was GTA V for PC delayed? Take Two's CEO explains

Earlier this year, PC gamers were elated to hear that developer Rockstar's blockbuster Grand Theft Auto 5 would finally be headed to PC, after months of being available for Xbox 360 and PS3.
Sadly, publisher Take Two recently confirmed that the game would be delayed until at least January, 2015 for PC, disappointed eager fans in the process.

During a recent shareholder's conference call, Take Two's CEO Strauss Zelnick explained the reason behind the delay, basically saying it needs more time to be perfected. "When we move a title, it's almost always the same answer, which is giving a title a bit more development time to make sure that it can be everything that it ought to be. And while we would prefer never to change a release date, it's proven to be a good move for us in general. We have the highest Metacritic ratings in the business, and that correlates with revenue and ultimately, of course, profitability," said Zelnick.

Rockstar Games does indeed have a long history of putting out games that are free of significant bugs, even if it means they have had to delay the launch.

Doesn't surprise me dealing with windows 8 has delayed a lot of games and caused a lot of games to lag bug out and worse delay it at least it will run nicely on my windows 7 machine

Well in the past, yes, most GTA for PC games ran smoothly...UNTIL GTA 4! That game was and still is a horrible port for PC! Hopefully this PC version will be better! Still I do not believe it is about making a better game....it is about delaying it until they get their profits from the Xbox one and playstation 4 games. Which SUCKS if you are waiting for it to come out on PC! I really wish Rockstar would release their games on PC the same day as the consoles, but they have proven over and over again that they basically hate PC, so why should this announcement be any surprise?

WHATEVER!!!!!!!

What runs on Windows 7 runs on Win8/8.1............PERIOD.

Only an occasional RARE exception that I have yet to encounter.

MS even makes the same claim. So pipe down w/your Win8 hate-mongering.

Go back to XP, stay w/7 for 14 years or switch to Linux but don't lay blame where it doesn't belong.

I bet you do! We have terms for those that fill the description but AD will ban me if I say what those terms are.

Why do you feel the need to belittle anyone that doesn't share your opinion, Hearme? All you do is talk trash about others that don't drink your haterade. Quite the presumption to assume that Joebloe is a 9/11 conspirator just because he shares his opinion on a game, isn't it?
