Sony ups revenue forecast for PlayStation division

Sony Computer Entertainment President and CEO Andrew House has confirmed the company's revenue expectations for their PlayStation division have been increased for the future.
The "Game and Network Services" segment is now expected to see revenue of between 1.4 trillion yen and 1.6 trillion yen ($11.8 billion and $13.5 billion) for the 2017 fiscal year. For the 2015 fiscal year, the company expects 1.29 trillion yen in sales ($11 billion).

Perhaps most notably for Sony, the company expects operating income margin of over 5 percent in 2017, compared to just 2.7 percent for this fiscal year.

Sony's PlayStation 4 continues to outsell its rival, the Xbox One, on a monthly basis, thanks in part to strong sales of hit games.

honestly it's not the hit games that are selling the console it's the fact the ps4 has backwards compatibility and yes all though in streaming format it still is great to be able to play classics on the ps4 from the ps3 but a lot still needs to continue.

What sony honestly needs to do to fix there consoles even better.

1. Movie playback support mpeg4 avi etc..

2. Playstation classic support for psone games we honestly know they can just port the playstation 1 loader that they used on the ps3 to boot games so why haven't they.

3. External storage support needed badly when gta 5 tops out at 51.3 gigs and takes 3 days to download you would kinda get pissed too.

4. Internal music storage

A lot shorter list then microsoft's.

What the xbox one needs to fix.

1. bad xbox one assembly practices

(Several users have reported bad fans in there brand new out of the box xbox one call of duty bundles)

2. cheap blu-ray drive (needs a more reliable drive several ebay auctions have shown up for xbox one consoles that won't read disk's because the laser in the drive has failed)

3. backwards compatibility (without this people are just going to stop at the 360)

4. Upgradable hard drive internal (external storage great now offer the 1 tb hard drive upgrade for your consumers that already purchased your console.

5. Fix the controllers they fail to sync and even have stuck trigger issues

6.shrink file sizes sorry 40 gig's for a game update thats crazy
