Here it is: New Nokia 3310

HMD Global, company that holds the global license to use Nokia's brand in phones, has announced today a comeback of the iconic Nokia 3310 phone.
New 3310 follows the old Nokia 3310's footsteps and is anything but a smartphone - a feature phone using Nokia Series 30 operating system, with physical keys and $50 price tag.

Unlike it predecessor, new 3310 has a 2.4" color display (QVGA LCD display), has 2Mpix cameraat the back of the phone and has a flashlight. Connectivity has only support for 2G networks.

Feature phone, i.e. no app store, etc.. Thus, main feature is calling and texting and target market is in developing countries, so absolutely no need for 3G, IMHO. Stand-by time over a month probably indicates how it is supposed to be used and marketed :-)

I like it. Bit of nostalgia. Speed is not important. It can still think faster than me. I had one as a work phone. Built like a brick toilet. Just didn't break and never went flat on you.

I'd buy one for $60 bucks to use as an emergency phone, or one when my actual every-day phone breaks. Pop in the sim card and away we go. This phone is also going to be huge for either seniors or folks who couldn't care less about app stores, etc. Want to talk and maybe text exclusively? This is the way to go.

Be careful with such a purchase. 2G is going away, Verizon and AT&T both say it will be gone by 2019 and in some areas it was never even available in the first place. I can sort of understand making a dumb phone for a low price but making a phone that won't even be able to do 911 calls in two years seems a bit excessive.

LOVE THIS! Coming from a network engineer that ditched his cell phone just over 4 years ago (to balance out my life of tech since I'm ensconced in it daily), this phone would seriously save people MONEY, FRUSTRATION, the headaches of UPGRADE AFTER UPGRADE FOR NO F'ING REASON and POSSIBLY A LIFE as this phone will encourage less and less of walking around with peeps head up their asses.........oh, my bad, HEADS DOWN IN THEIR PHONES.

I hate cellular! This is retro step FORWARD in the right direction.
