"LP Gas - Fuelling Life" is the Theme of the 20th World LP Gas Forum
PARIS, September 27 /PRNewswire/ -- - By choosing Africa and the theme "fuelling life" for its 20th Forum (Cape Town, South Africa, October 24-26, 2007), the WLPGA (World LP Gas Association) is asserting its commitment to proving the major contribution that LP Gas can make towards improving global living conditions, especially in disadvantaged areas. The WLPGA, as voice of the worldwide LP Gas industry, has prepared an especially rich program for its 20th annual meeting, with numerous conferences and round table discussions conducted by top specialists from around the world, such as Jacques Boudet (Geogas, Switzerland), Robert Schwartz (Chevron, Singapore), Mourad Belguedj (World Bank), P. Raghavendran (Reliance Industries, India), Roy Willis (PERC, USA), Pedro Jorge (Ultragaz, Brazil), and Mehmet-Ali Neyzi (Aygaz, Turkey). The discussions will allow the 700 participants, who come from more than 50 countries, to understand the evolution of the LP Gas market and to discover best practices and new technologies that will make LP Gas one of the most promising energy sources for the decades to come. The Forum will hold an additional symposium, dedicated to "the role of LP Gas in African development," sponsored by the United Nations Development Program and the World Bank. The keynote speech will be given by Buyelwa Sonjica, South African Minister of Minerals and Energy. Lon Greenberg, President of the WLPGA, says that this additional symposium will enable "the exploration of the benefits of LP Gas for the people of Africa and to think about ways of developing its use in the underdeveloped countries of the world." As is customary, an exhibition of LP Gas equipment and services currently available on the market will give participants the opportunity to learn about the latest technological developments in a rapidly expanding sector. It has around 170 members, headquartered in about 50 countries, from the entire LP Gas value chain. The WLPGA's mission is to promote LP Gas around the world.
