LHS Honoured With 2007 Stratecast Global Investment of R&D Resources to Address Core Billing Needs Award

LONDON, June 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Based on its recent analysis of the communications billing
global software sector, the 2007 Stratecast Global Investment of R&D
Resources to Address Core Billing Needs Award is bestowed on Germany-based
LHS. Significant and sustained emphasis on R&D coupled with a high level of
R&D investments relative to its size, effective conversion of research into
innovative business solutions and successful use of technology to promote
integration, interoperability, and user-friendliness underpin the company's
receipt of this award.

Much of LHS's R&D investment has been in re-architecting BSCS,
componentising the products and bringing end-to-end real-time capabilities
and responsiveness to modules, particularly rating and billing. The BSCS iX
is the culmination of these efforts, with the rating engine, iX Rating and
the billing engine, iX Billing available in standalone configuration,
providing real-time rating and billing, respectively.

"LHS's forward-looking R&D investments have resulted in the
modernisation of its key product suite BSCS iX," says Stratecast Research
Analyst Karl Whitelock. "Such investments will allow the company to
effectively compete in the billing and related arenas in the future as
convergence of network technologies and the resulting exponential explosion
of service offerings take centre stage."

BSCS iX - an end-to-end billing and customer care application - includes
web-based customer care and contract management. All customers - prepaid and
postpaid, corporate accounts and business partners - are managed with a
single system. It also provides web-based customer self-care capabilities.

"BSCS claims to support full convergence across all markets, services and
payments - wireline and wireless, voice, data, content and IPTV, prepaid and
postpaid," notes Mr. Whitelock. "Moreover, BSCS iX scales from entry level up
to large Tier-1 subscribers."

Other impressive findings indicative of LHS's ability to
convert its R&D efforts into business results include a recent benchmark
study conducted by LHS, where BSCS iX rated more than 320 million usage data
records per hour. In addition, it generated 1.69 million invoices per hour in
offline mode and 550,000 invoices per hour in real-time mode.

The company is committed to using technology to advance integration,
interoperability and user-friendliness. "Within BSCS iX, business documents
are created in XML format, allowing for paper bills or electronic bills to be
defined in the layout needed by the carrier," explains Mr. Whitelock.
"Further, flexible XML output format enables bill generation in the necessary
layout and enables electronic billing for web-based customer self-care."

Open and standard-based APIs enable stepwise migrations, easier
integration with other systems and pre-integration with major financial
systems.
