New Website Sat24.com Starts With Free Realtime Satellite Images
ARNHEM, The Netherlands, August 30 /PRNewswire/ -- The owners of the European rainfall website Meteox.com have also started a website that displays satellite images of Europe. The new website is called Sat24.com and shows realtime images over the entire European continent. The weather images can be watched without a subscription . Meteox.com was the first with realtime rainfall data over Europe and is now the first with realtime satellite images of Europe. "Now everybody in Europe can have a live view of the earth" says a spokesman of Sat24.com. "You can exactly see where the sun is shining in Europe and where the clouds are" the spokesman continues. "If you put the images in a loop with steps of 15 minutes you can see the clouds moving over Europe and forecast when it will hit your area". The photos of the earth are taken by the weather satellites from EUMETSAT. "We expect that this new website contributes in the making of your own weatherforecast. People can see whether it's raining or not during the day. They use websites like Sat24.com and Meteox.com to create their own local weatherforecast for the next couple of hours. It's not only very handy for professional people like constructors, engineering projects, farmers but also for anyone else planning outdoors activities like taking a walk, planning a barbecue, camping etc.". The resolution of the images are 1 by 1 kilometer in the south of Europe up to 2 by 2 kilometer in the north of Europe. Visitors can view visual images during day time. When the night falls over Europe the infrared images can be used. Sat24.com will use a lot of bandwidth on the internet. "The images are large and especially when you put the images in a loop these can become extra large. We have chosen to host our servers with ProServe.nl in the Netherlands for this project. They can provide us with enough bandwidth to have a fast website in all of the European counties".
