Survey Reveals One in Three People Have Suffered From ID Theft

CHESTER, England, October 11 /PRNewswire/ -- A survey conducted by iammoving.com, during ID Fraud
Prevention week, has found that over one in three people have suffered from
ID theft.

The UK's free online change of address service found that 33
per cent of respondents to its survey had suffered from ID theft, compared to
67 per cent who had not.

One of the most crucial times that people put themselves at
risk is when they move home. Forgetting to change address with utilities,
credit card companies or local council when people move home can lead to
serious problems if the information contained falls into the hands of a
potential ID thief.

Eileen Rutschmann, CEO of iammoving.com highlights the ways of
minimising the risk of becoming a victim of ID fraud, "Protecting yourself
against ID fraud doesn't need to be difficult - simply updating your address
when you move and properly destroying statements and card receipts can make a
huge difference. Using our free service is a way of staying in control and
making sure your personal details don't fall into the wrong hands."
