The Playing for Good Foundation celebrated the first annual International
Philanthropic Summit "Playing for Good" 2007 on the beautiful island of
Mallorca, Spain August 30th - September 1st, 2007. The groundbreaking
philanthropic summit, founded by philanthropists Maria Bravo, Scott Lazerson,
entrepreneurs Constantin A. Dietrich and Jan Stoltze was hosted by Eva
Longoria. The three-day summit ended with an elegant black tie gala
celebration and the presentation of the 2007 Awards of Charitable Excellence.
Host Eva Longoria served as the master of ceremonies for the gala dinner
which honoured five internationally recognized charities that have set a
global example in aiding children and families with the Award of Charitable
Excellence and a donation from Playing for Good for $250, 000 USD.
Internationally known entrepreneur, actress and musician Paris Hilton
presented the Award of Charitable Excellence to ASPANOB, a group that aids in
children's cancer research, patient care and family support programs as well
as psychological and socioeconomic support free of cost. Oscar nominated
actor Terrence Howard presented legendary Oscar and Golden Globe winning
actress Goldie Hawn with an award and donation for her charity, The Hawn
Foundation, which is dedicated to supporting children by advancing
mindfulness training in educational, healthcare and community-basted
settings. Also honoured were Spread the Net, Millennium Promise and Keep a
Child Alive.
