Mobile World Congress -- ACCESS CO., LTD. today reinforced its leadership
in the mobile industry with announcements supporting joint initiatives to
deliver Linux-based platforms for mobile devices. Just one year after
releasing the Product Development Kit for its ACCESS Linux Platform to
licensees and partners, the Company confirmed that the platform will power
the first open, mobile Linux handset for Orange. The new handset, expected to
be available to Orange customers later this year, will be produced by Samsung
Electronics Co., Ltd., and will give Orange customers the full benefits of
the ACCESS Linux Platform, including an innovative and user-friendly
Interface design, access to thousands of off-the-shelf Garnet(TM) OS-based
applications available immediately, and integrated communication between
applications, enabling a seamless user experience for music, messaging and
other advanced features.
In a move to help unify the mobile Linux industry and further enable
time-to-market development of open devices, ACCESS also announced that it
has joined the LiMo Foundation as a Core member and will hold a seat on the
LiMo Foundation board. In recognition of ACCESS' proven track record with the
developer community of successfully bringing to market its ACCESS Linux
Platform Software Development Kit (SDK), ACCESS is spearheading the team
tasked with developing the LiMo Foundation's native Linux SDK suite.
ACCESS further announced the availability of the ACCESS Linux Platform
Development Suite (including SDK and Tools) via a newly-created developer
portal designed to provide support and services for third party Independent
Software Vendors (ISVs). The ACCESS Linux Platform Development Suite is
immediately available free of charge to all registered members of the ACCESS
Developer Network at http://accessdevnet.com.
As evidence of the continued momentum behind ACCESS solutions, eleven new
members were added to the growing roster of companies in the ACCESS Connect
Ecosystem (ACE) global partner program, bringing total membership to 85.
The ACE partner program, which was launched at 3GSM World Congress 2007,
represents a network of world-class partners developing and promoting new
converged technologies and solutions in concert with ACCESS.

ZebOS supports advanced network technologies that enable Next Generation
Networks. In addition, visitors to the ACCESS booth will be able to
experience hands-on demonstrations of a next-generation multimedia home
network that seamlessly connects mobile handsets and consumer electronics
using NetFront(TM) Living Connect, the DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance)
-compliant solution for digital content.
