Acision Selected by O2 to Differentiate Messaging Services in the UK

BARCELONA, Spain, February 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Acision today announced that UK network operator O2, part of Telefonica
O2 Europe, has selected its IP Short Message Service Centre (SMSC) and SMS
Gateway to enhance application messaging capability. Originally selected by
O2 in July 2007, Acision's solution will enable O2 to offer its business
customers innovative new ways for interacting with their customers.

The UK is a fiercely competitive market, and O2 is committed to
delivering the very best customer experience and services. The deployment of
Acision's IP SMSC across its network reflects a need for proven, stable and
reliable capability to differentiate and enhance its services and sustain
growth.

O2 will deploy a high capacity voting solution and provision alphanumeric
text messages across the network, enabling brands choosing to advertise with
O2 to send messages to potential customers that are attributed to a source,
such as 'Brand A', as opposed to a short code of numbers. This personalised
interaction with the subscriber will increase consumer confidence in both the
brand and the content they are receiving.

Alan Chalmers, Head of SMS Messaging for O2 commented: "It is imperative
that we provide a discernable differentiator from the competition by
preparing for future growth whilst providing our customers with the best
quality experience available, thereby turning customers into fans. Acision
has an excellent reputation for providing robust and innovative messaging
platforms, which along with our long and trusted relationship heavily
influenced our decision to work with them. These value-added messaging
services will prove exciting propositions for both our consumer and business
subscriber bases."

Bas Lemmens, General Manager, Europe, Russia and Africa at Acision,
added: "O2 chose Acision because we understand their business and what they
want to achieve. O2 will differentiate itself in a highly competitive market
through its ability to offer enticing high-revenue generating services that
can handle extremely high traffic peaks. Acision's text messaging systems
process over half of the world's text messages and O2's decision reinforces
Acision as the leader in mobile messaging and the trusted messaging company
to operators globally."
