Thomson Scientific Appoints Marian Hollingsworth New Director of Publisher Relations

PHILADELPHIA and LONDON, February 28 /PRNewswire/ --

Thomson Scientific, part of The Thomson Corporation (NYSE: TOC; TSX: TOC)
and leading provider of information solutions to the worldwide research and
business communities, today announced the promotion of Marian Hollingsworth
to the role of Director of Publisher Relations, reporting directly to Jim
Testa, senior director, editorial development.

Prior to this appointment, Ms. Hollingsworth was manager, Publisher
Relations since she joined Thomson Scientific in 2000. In her expanded role
as Director, Ms. Hollingsworth will be responsible for communications with
publishers regarding coverage of publications and journal metrics.

Before working at Thomson, Marian was assistant director at NFAIS
(National Federation of Abstracting and Information Services), an association
of database producers and information service providers. Marian's career
includes over 20 years of management experience in academic, special and
public libraries. She holds a BS from Temple University and an MS from the
College of Information Science and Technology, Drexel University.
