Workforce

PointCross releases SOLO(TM), version 3.2, a companion client that
extends enterprise Orchestra platform services for secure information
sharing, distribution, search, as well as strategic processes to the remote
worker who is periodically off-line. This release represents a quantum leap
in the way people work, share, communicate, and distribute information, with
utmost security and compliance to policies.

Solo(TM) keeps all information that a user might need in a period of time
spanning the recent past and future. It adapts to the user's usage and
connectivity patterns to Orchestra(TM) which maintains the Ontology of the
enterprise's data, knowledge, and all relationships. Orchestra is an SOA
Environment for accelerating decision making within innovation dependent,
knowledge-intensive enterprises, and as such contains, or points to, all the
information that their knowledge workers might need. When Solo is online, it
automatically synchronizes relevant business-mail, data, and content within
Orchestra. Solo shares information securely in real time with team members
across their shared contexts. Solo uses encryption and one-time pass-codes
for ultra-sensitive negotiations across country borders. It works off-line
providing the same user experience as when online. Solo provides all of the
corporate or generic record management facilities even when off line; and it
displays all the files and their versions of all the content the user has
access to when online.

Solo adapts to the needs, work habits and usage patterns of individual
users, whereas Orchestra adapts to the needs, behavior and usage patterns of
the entire enterprise. Solo can automatically remove legacy, or old,
information including prior document versions that can be retired from the
client machine with the ability to accessing it anytime again from the
server.

Solo runs on Windows Vista/XP machines, and is pre-integrated with all
Microsoft Office and Outlook products and it extends the personal calendar to
include a team, project, and corporate calendar. It can be configured as a
client for Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) technology. Users can
invoke an Office application like Word, Excel or PowerPoint from Solo; once
the file is closed, it is automatically saved in Solo. Files in Windows
Explorer, and Outlook mails can be dragged and dropped into a context in
Solo.

Distributed Solo clients recover themselves through synchronization with
server information if there is a disastrous loss of data.
