A new website launches today that helps you gauge your internet
experience and work out your "Internet Age".

Will you be a 'net novice' with a relatively low Internet Age, or a
'virtual veteran,' well-versed in the ways of the web? Do you know more about
the internet than your parents, friends, teachers or boss? Now, for the first
time, you can find out.

http://www.myinternetage.com - developed by communications company Orange
- evaluates the amount of time you spend online, what kind of sites you visit
- and how often you visit them - plus your exposure and attitude towards
online safety. The answers help define a person's Internet Age.

The Internet Age scale runs from 0-16, reflecting the number of years the
internet has been around(1). Experienced internet users will sit at the
higher end of the scale, with newcomers to the internet placed towards the
lower end.

The site has been developed to quantify the different generational
attitudes to the Internet and, for the first time, put hard figures against
the way people of different ages use the web. The information will be used to
help Orange create a new internet safety education module which will be used
in schools across the UK in the 2008/9 school year.

As well as working out how sophisticated they are at surfing the
internet, visitors to myinternetage.com will be entered into a draw where
they can win everything from holidays and cruises to laptops, LCD TVs and
mobile phones.

http://www.myinternetage.com was developed in association with Dr Jo
Bryce from the University of Central Lancashire's Cyberspace Research Unit.
The results will form part of a detailed, lengthy study by Orange to
encourage safe and responsible use of the internet.

ChristÚle Delbé, Head of CSR for Orange, said: "The site offers people a
fun way of working out their Internet Age and makes sure they understand
their own attitude to online safety."
