LEIPZIG, Germany, May 9 /PRNewswire/ -- It's been a while that Leipzig no longer holds any secrets for conference
organizers. Whether for a convention, conference, large exhibition or
corporate event, the new portal http://www.do-it-at-leipzig.de is a mine of
information for those interested. You can instantly find conference hotels,
convention centers and event locations, as well as agencies, PCOs, and
hostess or valet parking services. Detailed search functions, particularly
under the "Event planner" tab, enable you to display results according to
your specific needs. The launch of the website is an important step in the
events planning strategy. It is set to last until 2009 as part of the
do-it-at-leipzig.de initiative in which 45 partners are taking part under the
framework of the joint projects. Another step is the "Meetings & Events in
Leipzig" brochure that came out in 2008. It is available from Leipzig
Tourismus und Marketing GmbH and highlights the city's many facets using the
slogan "Feel the spirit...".
Despite convincing presentations by competitors from Dubai and
Pittsburgh, Leipzig recently convinced ICCA (International Congress and
Convention Association) to organize its 50th world congress in the German
candidate city.
Apart from its economic and scientific vitality, Leipzig also attracts
guests thanks to its culture, shops and nightlife. It is rare to find other
German cities that combine such a level of energy and professionalism with
unequaled hospitality. The Saxe region's largest city is fitted out with an
ultramodern infrastructure; it has 11,000 beds and 6,500 rooms, of which 40%
are classified as four and five star. Other hotels are currently under
construction and will open in 2009. Convention and seminar centers, and
unrivalled event locations complete the product range. Of the several
thousand overnight guests and the millions of day guests (upward trend), more
than 70% are convention participants and business travelers.
Leipzig also has a great asset: the city has been chosen by the German
Convention Bureau (GCB) as privileged partner for 2008. This means the city
benefits from exclusive advantages in the events field, compared to other
German cities, through the organization of joint marketing activities.
