Harris Corporation Breaks Ground for New Facility in the United Kingdom

WINNERSH, England, June 16 /PRNewswire/ --

Harris Corporation (NYSE: HRS), an international communications and
information technology company, today broke ground on a new facility in
Winnersh, UK, that will support the company's continued expansion into
European, Middle Eastern and African (EMEA) markets.

The new, 72,000-square-foot (6,690-square-meter) facility will serve as
the headquarters for EMEA operations for the Harris Broadcast and Harris RF
Communications businesses, and will provide a centralized location for Harris
corporate functions in the UK. On-site activities will include in-region
product development, customer briefings and demonstrations, and business
development and general office functions.

"This groundbreaking underscores our commitment to expanding the Harris
presence and reach in the EMEA markets, and reflects the excellent
partnership that we have enjoyed with this community for many years," said
Howard Lance, chairman, president and CEO of Harris. "Harris is a world
leader in secure tactical radio systems, which we provide to defense and
peace-keeping forces, Ministries of Interior, and government agencies in more
than 100 countries. Harris also is a world leader in broadcast systems for
radio and television and is a key player in the global build-out of
high-definition infrastructure systems. When complete, the new building will
provide additional room for our anticipated growth -- something that we
expect will also benefit the Winnersh community."

Harris will be the anchor tenant in the redesigned Winnersh Triangle
corporate park, which is being developed by SEGRO with an environmentally
friendly design. All buildings will have a 'very good' Building Research
Establishment Energy Assessment Method (BREEAM) rating, with carbon emissions
approximately 50 percent below those of a standard office. Other sustainable
features will include high-performance glass and sun-shading techniques to
minimize solar heat gain; a chilled beam system that cools water for air
conditioning with 20 percent less carbon emissions than traditional cooling
systems; and numerous other energy efficient features. A bridge will connect
the park to the rail station to encourage commuting.

"Harris Corporation has enjoyed much success and growth in the Winnersh
Triangle since locating here in 1986," said Alan Dye, controller of Harris
Systems Ltd. "We are very pleased with our decision to work with SEGRO on
their redevelopment scheme for the estate and re-establishing our facilities
in one of their new buildings. We are excited by the fresh, modern re-design
plans for the estate, in particular the superb architectural and
sustainability aspects of the buildings. We look forward to our continued
successful relationship with SEGRO and seeing our new UK home come to
fruition."

In addition to Lance, participants in the groundbreaking ceremony
included the Right Honourable John Redwood, Member of Parliament for
Wokingham; the Mayor of Wokingham Borough, Pauline Helliar-Symons; and SEGRO
Director of National Markets Gareth Osborn.
