IPA Now Supports Affymetrix Exon Arrays and Additional Species

REDWOOD CITY, California, June 17 /PRNewswire/ --

Ingenuity Systems, the leading provider of information solutions for life
science researchers, today released IPA 6.3, the newest version of its
pathway analysis and life sciences knowledge software. IPA now supports
Affymetrix GeneChip(R) Exon Arrays and several new animal and plant species.

Currently, IPA supports a variety of different research platforms
including gene expression, proteomics, SNPs, genotyping, and RNAi. Now with
the support of Affymetrix GeneChip Exon Arrays, researchers using this system
can use IPA for further analysis and interpretation of the gene expression
data. IPA will provide a rapid assessment of the signaling and metabolic
pathways, molecular networks, and biological processes most significantly
perturbed in the dataset being examined.

"We're excited that Ingenuity's IPA now supports Affymetrix Whole
Transcript Exon and Gene Arrays," stated Rob Clum, Market Development
Manager, Informatics, Affymetrix. "Our array technology is designed to
provide the most detailed view of gene expression, and IPA helps researchers
go a step further to better understand the underlying biology involved in
their experimental system."

"IPA 6.3 provides significant new customer benefits by supporting
additional research platforms," commented Brigitte Ganter, Ph.D., Director of
Product Management, Ingenuity Systems. "Researchers using Affymetrix Exon
Arrays can now leverage IPA to identify the molecular networks, cellular and
disease phenotypes, and pathways most significantly associated with their
datasets for a deeper understanding of the complex systems they are studying.
IPA now also supports key animal and plant species, which are essential for
our customers whose primary research involves model organisms like
Drosophila, Zebrafish, Arabidopsis, or others."

About Ingenuity Pathways Analysis

Ingenuity Pathways Analysis is an all-in-one software application that
enables researchers to model, analyze, and understand the complex biological
and chemical systems at the core of life science research. IPA's search
capabilities provide users with access to the highest quality detail-rich
knowledge available on genes, drugs, chemicals, protein families, cellular
and disease processes, and signaling and metabolic pathways. IPA supports
analysis of data from all experimental platforms, and is used at all stages
of the drug discovery and development process, including target
identification and validation, biomarker discovery, molecular toxicology,
metabolomics, and pharmacogenomics. IPA has been broadly adopted and cited in
hundreds of peer-reviewed journals.
