OrbitalCom to Unveil Proprietary IPTV 'Multimedia' Compression Technology at INTERNIX EXPO
KINGSTOWN, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, June 18 /PRNewswire/ --
- Unassailable IPTV compression technology promises to expand ISP
offerings, consumer options
Communications network provider Orbital Multi Media Holdings Corporation
(http://www.Quiptel.com) is set to unveil its Quiptel(TM) multimedia network
at INTERNIX EXPO on July 17th in Cape Town, South Africa.
As explained by Stan Capiak, director of OrbitalCom: Quiptel(TM) will
create an unparalleled ability to deliver fully interactive content. Current
technology in the marketplace is consuming anywhere from 1Megabit/s to
15Megabit/s per video Stream.
The online video rental business will change dramatically with the
ability to deliver a secure digital copy to an end-user anywhere in the
world, on demand.
At Quiptel(TM), we can produce the same quality from the Server to a
handheld Device from 30kbps and to a Standard CRT TV set from between 128kbps
to 300kbps and higher TV sets like LCD or Plasma TV anywhere from 300kbps >
600kbps.
What this means, Mr. Capiak said, is that anyone with a DSL Internet
connection can have access to full multimedia services. A fiber optic line to
the house is no longer required when using Quiptel(TM) technology. A wireless
Internet Service Provider can provide a broader array of services - and still
keep consumer costs down.
This proprietary technology also means more options for the end-user. The
end-user device, the Quiptel(TM) IPTV set-top box, can deliver videos
on-demand, live TV, pay-per-view music videos, live concerts, music
on-demand, interactive games and gaming. In addition to a four line PBX video
phone system through the TV, consumers can also with a wireless keyboard surf
and interact with the Internet.
According to Mr. Capiak, the possibilities with Quiptel(TM) technology
are limited only to the subscriber's imagination. The ability to interact
with a consumer by an advertiser is extraordinary. He offers a few scenarios:
-- Users watching a sporting event could pick up the remote and place an
order for takeout food via the TV - and even pay with a credit card.
-- Shopping Channel enthusiasts can order via the TV without touching
anything but the remote. Users could interact one-on-one with
advertisers and even a salesperson via the TV.
-- Multitasking is taken to the next level. Users upload movies and
pictures and share them with friends and family on the network within
their own private TV channel. At the same time, they surf the web and
IM via a fully interactive flash-enabled web browser, while a four-line
PBX system allows full-motion video conferencing.
Quiptel(TM) provides operators with a self-contained, turnkey automated
system. It is dynamically built with full account management, multi-platform
billing, automated compression, formatting, and secure SSL content management
and protection - all combined with a per-user deployment cost well below
current industry standards.
Mr. Capiak added that the device is fully encrypted using SSL, so content
providers are assured of copyright protection.
