DUBAI, Untied Arab Emirates and HSINCHU, Taiwan, September 10 /PRNewswire/ --

Edge-Core, a part of the Accton Technology Group and a world-wide leading
solution provider of professional networking equipment, is showcasing its
full-range of Broadband Wireless Access products that include a 802.16e WiMAX
and a 5GHz Unlicensed Band solution in GITEX 2007 from September 8-12 in
Dubai International Convention Center at Hall 3, C3-30.

"We are proud to say that Edge-Core is the only Taiwan brand who can
provide the complete high-end wireless access broadband solution that is
matched with high performance, rich features and a reasonable price,"
Ms. June Chao, the managing director of Edge-Core points out.

During the 5-day show, Edge-Core is showcasing how to broadcast Triple
Play services such as IPTV, Video streaming and Voice over IP packets via
802.16e WIMAX technology to various access devices including an 802.16e
indoor CPE, laptops equipped with 802.16e PCMCIA cards and SIP WiFi Phones.

Edge-Core 802.16e WiMAX leverages Edge-Core's Broadband Wireless Access
(BWA) industry and field-proven experiences worldwide. Important features
include OFDM technology to support non-line-of-sight (NLOS) operation,
adaptive modulation up to QAM64, and the highest spectral efficiency
available. Operating in the 3.3, 3.5 and 3.6GHz licensed frequency bands,
Edge-Core 802.16e WiMAX addresses the current and future customer demand for
a cost-effective, next generation BWA systems, whether it's fixed, nomadic,
portable or mobile applications. Its carrier-class design supports broadband
speeds and QoS for Triple Play services to multiple subscribers in a single
base station.

Another BWA solution is Edge-Core's Unlicensed Band. Operating in the
5GHz band, ISPs municipalities, communities, and even private enterprises
now have the ability to quickly and inexpensively offer broadband services
such as data, voice and video.

Going beyond wireless DSL, Edge-Core's Unlicensed Band enables
municipalities to connect buildings, streamline government functions with
online services, and upgrade public safety operations with traffic management
and video surveillance. In addition, governments can save by implementing
VoIP services, while at the same time providing citizens with public
broadband in the form of hotspots.

In August, Edge-Core successfully won the first Proof of Concepts (PoC)
802.16e mobile WiMAX deployment in Taiwan. This deployment, scheduled to be
completed in October, was officially certified by the WiMAX Forum. Edge-Core
will transfer this WiMAX experience along with tailor made solutions to
meet the needs of special vertical markets such as telecommunication public
networks, defense and security, water and electricity distribution,
transportation, as well as oil and gas industries in the Gulf region.
According to research, the WIMAX market scale is expected to reach
EUR 40 million with more than 50% annual growth in the year 2008 in the
Middle East market.
