nCircle Releases Configuration Auditing Packages for Retail and PCI

SAN FRANCISCO, August 11 /PRNewswire/ --

- Packages deliver automated File Integrity Compliance and Point of Sale
configuration auditing

nCircle today announced new configuration auditing and file integrity
monitoring options designed for the retail sector and businesses subject to
PCI. The packages provide two new capabilities: an agentless configuration
auditing solution for retail stores with point of sale systems such as cash
registers, and a file integrity compliance option for organizations that want
to get started with PCI compliance quickly and easily. The new packages
streamline compliance monitoring processes by automating processes that were
previously either manual or simply not possible. The new package is based on
nCircle Configuration Compliance Manager, the industry's leading agentless
configuration audition solution and part of the nCircle security risk and
compliance suite.

"Configuration auditing has traditionally been difficult or impossible
for point of sale systems, and the PCI Data Security Standard requires
merchants to monitor the integrity of critical files," said Mark Wood, VP of
Product Management at nCircle. "nCircle's Configuration Compliance Manager
product has long had these capabilities, but these new packages make it even
easier for our customers to get started monitoring their security and ensure
compliance at the lowest possible cost."

"nCircle has a great solution for configuration auditing on point of sale
systems and for file integrity compliance," said Shekar Swamy, President,
American Technology Corporation, a St. Louis based company specializing in
PCI compliance solutions. "nCircle's solutions combined with our services
offering provides an easy solution to PCI compliance."

Configuration auditing provides continuous system auditing to discover
system configurations and detect changes. nCircle's unique solution performs
configuration auditing without requiring software agents to be installed on
the monitored system, a key requirement for most point of sale systems such
as cash registers. nCircle's file integrity compliance capability is also
agentless, and enables the monitoring of specific files on a system for
changes. File integrity compliance is mandatory under the PCI Data Security
Standard.
