PlayPumps International Announces Dale E. Jones as Chief Executive Officer

Jones, will join the organization as Chief Executive Officer, bringing his 25 years of leadership experience and executive skills to its efforts to change and improve the lives of 10 million people living without access to clean water in sub-Saharan Africa. PlayPumps International is a nonprofit organization that enables individuals, governments, foundations, and companies to donate PlayPump(R) water systems to rural African communities and schools. Jones comes to PlayPumps from the Atlanta office of Heidrick & Struggles, a leading executive search firm where he served as Managing Partner for their CEO and Board Practice, Americas, and where he will continue to serve in an advisory capacity. His 25-year career includes positions with Bank of America and Morehouse College. Jones serves on the Boards or Advisory Committees of several of the leading national and local non-profit organizations, including The Salvation Army, The Atlanta Resource Foundation, and the Yale Center for Faith and Culture. He has also served as a corporate director for Hughes Supply and is a member of the Young President's Organization and the CEO Forum. Jones will serve as an executive-on-loan from Revolution LLC, the company founded by Steve Case that seeks to drive transformative change by shifting power to consumers and building significant, category-defining companies in the process. In addition to his role as Play Pumps International CEO, Jones will bring his expertise in leadership development to Revolution and its portfolio companies. At the 2006 Clinton Global Initiative, with the participation of former President Bill Clinton and current First Lady Laura Bush, PlayPumps announced the launch of an effort to install 4,000 PlayPump systems.
