Alcatel-Lucent Placed in Leaders Quadrant in Industry Analyst Corporate Telephony Report
PARIS, September 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) today announced it has been placed in the leaders quadrant of the recently published Gartner "Magic Quadrant for Corporate Telephony". For the first time, the report evaluates corporate telephony vendors from a global rather than regional perspective. The Gartner report recognizes that the market is evolving "from one of proprietary hardware to one of standards-based software" that provides companies the opportunity to "use IP telephony to deliver business benefits across the organization, while consolidating technologies around a common technology or solution provider, or selection of providers and their partners." Alcatel-Lucent telephony solutions are based on open-standards and provide a range of solutions for voice and video conferencing, collaboration, unified messaging, unified communications, wireless communications, and applications for small to medium businesses and large enterprises. As a global company, Alcatel-Lucent provides businesses with consistent national and regional deployments of global solutions and the option of single supplier installations that transparently interconnect disparate locations. According to the Gartner report, "Market leaders demonstrate strength and can affect market trends in all the criteria on which they are evaluated. Leaders tend to have broad geographical coverage across the globe or particular strengths in one or more key global markets." Alcatel-Lucent is helping its customers to become increasingly dynamic enterprises by providing communications solutions that strengthen relationships, simplify interaction, and improve performance. State of the art networks, streamlined processes, real-time collaboration and improved access to information help turn every interaction into a business opportunity.
