Thales and GuestLogix Sign Agreement to Integrate Mobile Virtual Store(TM) Technology With the TopSeries Inflight Entertainment System

WAEA CONFERENCE - LONG BEACH, California, September 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Thales, a worldwide provider of passenger entertainment systems,
announced that it signed an agreement with GuestLogix Inc., the leading
provider of on-board retail systems to the airline industry. Together the
companies will integrate an on-board retail capability that co-ordinates
purchases on the carriers' pre-flight websites, the GuestLogix Mobile Virtual
Store(TM), and on-board redemption of entertainment services such as movies
and video games through the TopSeries(TM) system.

"GuestLogix has an on-board retail solution that is an excellent
complement to the TopSeries system. We anticipate that airlines will soon
realize that they can provide new services that their passengers will
appreciate," said Alan Pellegrini, Vice President and General Manager of
Thales' Inflight Entertainment business. A launch airline for this new
feature has been identified but the company name cannot be disclosed at this
time.

This solution uses patent-pending GuestLogix Concierge(TM) technology
that generates secure identification codes which minimize fraud and eliminate
the need to embed POS applications with the seat-back video systems. While
visiting the airline's Website, travelers can pre-pay for on-board
entertainment services. The customer is then issued a Concierge(TM) code
which they can input using the virtual keypad on the seat-back touch screen
to play desired entertainment.

GuestLogix Concierge(TM) fully integrates with the GuestLogix Mobile
Virtual Store(TM) on-board wireless POS which can manage all aspects of the
entertainment transaction, including refunds in case of partial or
non-fulfillment of service. "Entertainment services, payment technologies,
online shopping and Internet access are converging to create new ways to
enhance the on-board passenger experience," said Brett Proud, Executive Vice
President of On-Board Retail Development at GuestLogix. "Airlines can benefit
from the Thales/GuestLogix combination as they can pre-sell more services in
the booking path on websites, integrate entertainment services with other
on-board merchandising offers, and reduce operating costs such as credit card
processing fees."
