Visit 'The Office of the Future' at Working Buildings 2008
LONDON, September 17 /PRNewswire/ --
Working Buildings 2008 announce today the launch of a major new feature
for 2008, 'The Office of the Future', where visitors can get a glimpse of
tomorrow's office, today. A major design project that's attracting huge
attention, The Office of the Future is organised in partnership with BIM
Products and Smartcomm and is sponsored by Dyson Airblade.
The brand new feature brings together two cutting edge technologies in a
way never seen before with BIM (Building Information Model) applications for
FM, M&E and energy analysis being run on the latest giant plasma screen
technology from Sharp. Using a virtual 27-storey office tower, The Office of
the Future allows attendees to view the latest office innovations and learn
how to design sustainability into their offices. Located on stand D145 within
Total Workplace Management, the feature will enable visitors to:
-- Interact in 3D with BIM models on high resolution plasma touch
screens.
-- Virtually explore every structure and system within a building.
-- View countless ArTrA demonstrations of projects concentrating on hard
FM including 51 Lime Street and Kings Cross Station and see how ArTrA
can link to any other available FM Systems.
-- See presentations on why and when you run energy analysis from
Granlund, acknowledged energy and FM experts throughout Scandinavia.
-- Explore the new and exciting content from OPS, provided by Kimon
Onuma. This emerging type of FM, linked to Google Earth, is the
future for large asset FM based projects and has been used by the US
Coast Guard to locate and manage all their infrastructure and assets.
-- Take a look at High Definition Video Communication Systems for
environmentally conscious buildings wanting to reduce their carbon
footprint and the long-awaited 103-inch plasma, the world's largest
plasma screen, supplied by Smartcomm.
-- Take a break on the stylish new Bea chair designed by Doriana
Massimiliano Fuksas and view the latest range of Han furniture all
supplied by Interoffice
Paul Goodman Simpson, Director of BIM Products comments, "The Office of
the Future will be the first time an interactive 3D Facilities Management
building model has been shown in public. The hands-on experience will be
enhanced through the amazing large format plasma technology from Smartcomm."
Working Buildings 2008 features three co-located exhibitions, M&E - The
Building Services Event, Total Workplace Management and Energy Solutions
