Splunk Steps Up to Meet European Demand with Appointment of Brian Haynes as Vice President EMEA

LONDON, October 2 /PRNewswire/ --

Splunk (http://www.splunk.com), the IT Search company, today announces
the appointment of Brian Haynes as Vice President Sales in the Europe, Middle
East & Africa (EMEA) region. The appointment of Haynes follows Splunk's
continued and exceptional growth -- in Q2 alone Splunk added 94 new customers
and upgraded 45 existing customers to higher data indexing levels. The
company ended Q2 with more than 750 enterprise, service provider and
government agency customers worldwide, including more than 60 in EMEA.

"Expanding the tremendous success of Splunk in the UK and the rest of
Europe is a critical part of our growth strategy," says Godfrey Sullivan,
President and CEO, Splunk. "The combination of Brian's experience, the Splunk
brand and our leading IT Search technology will continue to accelerate our
business throughout the region."

As Vice President Sales, EMEA, Haynes is responsible for further
accelerating Splunk's growth in the European market. Haynes joins Splunk
having held senior management positions at EMC/Legato and CA/Wily. At Legato
Sytems, which was acquired by EMC in 2003, he held the role of VP Northern
EMEA. During his time there, Haynes was part of an EMEA start-up team that
took Legato Systems EMEA from virtually zero annual revenue to circa pounds
sterling 70 million. He started his managerial career at Logitek, one of the
UK's largest publicly quoted distribution companies at the time.

Commenting on his appointment, Haynes responded, "Splunk has experienced
exceptional growth in the US and the talented team that we're building in
EMEA will seek to replicate this success on this side of the pond. In all my
years of working in IT, I've never encountered a product as easy to deploy or
one that delivers such immediate value."
