Garmin Offers nüMaps Guarantee and City Navigator Europe NT 2009

SOUTHAMPTON, England, October 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Garmin the global leader in satellite navigation is proud to announce the
availability of its nüMaps Guarantee, which will ensure that new owners of
selected Garmin sat-navs receive the most updated maps available.

At the same time, Garmin is also launching the latest version of the
popular City Navigator Europe NT 2009 mapping so that existing nüvi and zumo
customers can access the very latest UK and European maps with ease and
efficiency.

Laura Tomei EMEA Cartography Manager for Garmin said: "Garmin strives to
make sure that its customers have the most current and up-to-date maps. As
roads and points of interest change, we work closely with our map provider,
Navteq, to continually update our databases."

"Now, when a customer uses their Garmin for the first time, they can be
assured that their unit can have access to the latest version of road maps."

After a customer purchases a new nüvi or zumo sat-nav, they can check to
see if they are eligible for a free map update simply by registering their
unit at http://my.garmin.com within 60 days of the first use of their new
PND. If new map data is available anytime during that 60-day period, the user
can request and download the new information, free of charge, by following
simple online prompts.

Garmin's City Navigator Europe NT 2009 mapping now covers a total of 40
countries and over 8 million Kilometres of road. This update now includes
full country coverage in the Baltics (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania) as well
as significant improvements in the overall mapping for Croatia, Czech
Republic, Greece, Hungary and Slovakia.

"We're pleased with Garmin's efforts to make the freshest, most accurate
map data available to its customers," commented Cliff Fox, Senior Vice
President, Map Division at NAVTEQ. "Our research indicates that portable
navigation device users are more satisfied with their systems when the map
data is up-to-date."

City Navigator Europe NT 2009 also benefits from 1.2 million Points of
Interest, which for the first time includes 8,000 campsites across Western
Europe - perfect for arranging your winter getaway.

The map update for City Navigator Europe NT 2009 is priced at GBP59.99 /
EUR79.99 including VAT and is available to download from http://my.garmin.com
or alternatively the Retail Map Update discs can be purchased from your local
Garmin dealer.

The nüMaps Guarantee service began on 15th October 2008. Anyone who first
used their new nüvi or zumo systems on August 17th or later will be eligible
for a free map update - provided their unit is registered with the Garmin
website and a new map is available within 60 days of the unit's first use.
