2009 Will be "Year of Cashback" Thanks to National Newspaper Launches

KEIGHLEY, England, December 10 /PRNewswire/ -- 2009 will be the year that cashback shopping on the internet goes
mainstream, thanks to high profile launches by major media groups.

That's the prediction from http://www.Cashback Partners.com which is now
powering cashback sites for more than 80 UK companies.

Earlier this year the Daily Mirror, Daily Record and Daily Star launched
cashback sites.

Readers log in to the sites before visiting any of 2,000 mainstream
retailers and buying goods and services as normal.

A portion of the referral fee paid by online retailers is returned to the
consumer - perfect for Britons hit by the downturn.

And the company that brands the site gets extra revenue without any
investment in infrastructure.

It's estimated there are still 20 million people in the UK who don't use
cashback, making it a lucrative potential market for companies with existing
customer bases.

CashbackPartners.com marketing manager Nadeem Azam said: "With so many
people suffering in the downturn, cashback shopping is an opportunity to help
your customers save money and generate extra revenue for your business at the
same time.

"I'm convinced 2009 is the year cashback shopping will truly go
mainstream, and there will be a scramble from companies to get revenue from
their customers before someone else does."

He added: "Any business that has an existing online customer base can
benefit quickly and easily right now. There are no catches."

CashbackPartners.com is owned by V A C Media, the biggest operator of
customer loyalty websites in the UK.

The company has a network of 180 cashback websites supported by 62 staff.

More than 550,000 shoppers use the network to purchase items from 2,000
retailers.

Year on year comparison of performance in 2007 and 2008 showed the number
of sign ups went up 12 per cent in 2008.
