Republic of Kazakhstan Embraces PASCO's Interactive, Hands-on Science Technology for Education

LONDON, January 15 /PRNewswire/ --

- PASCO Participates in Kazakhstan's Efforts to Infuse Schools with
Innovative Technology and Build World-Class Education System

PASCO scientific today announced an alliance with The Republic of
Kazakhstan to bring interactive, hands-on science technology to schools
throughout the country. PASCO, a science education company and global leader
in innovative solutions for hands-on science, made the announcement at BETT,
the world's largest education technology event.

"Kazakhstan is poised to take the world stage as it steps up efforts to
make science education a national priority," said PASCO's Chief Education
Officer Wayne Grant, Ph.D.

Working under the guidelines of the state-run Education Development
Program, a component of Kazakhstan's initiative to be one of the top 50
developed nations in the world, PASCO and its two consortium partners,
Promethean and LJCreate, are among the companies working with Kazakhstan's
Ministry of Education and Science to create a model for teaching and learning
21st century skills.

"Kazakhstan is committed to infusing schools with advanced science
technologies that provide students with a world-class education and a future
in a competitive global economy that revolves largely around science,
technology, engineering and math (STEM) skills," said Dr. Grant. "This is a
small country making significant changes to its education system. We are
honored to be part of this effort."

Kazakhstan high school students will use PASCO's Xplorer GLX, a
standalone graphing data logger that captures, analyzes, annotates, stores
and prints data quickly and seamlessly, without being connected to a
computer. PASCO has also provided the high schools with labs and lab
apparatus for chemistry, physics and biology.

More than 4,000 teachers have been trained on PASCO's solutions and are
now applying them in classrooms along with products from Promethean, a global
leader in interactive learning technologies such as whiteboards, software and
learning response systems; and LJCreate, a U.K. company offering topic
specific learning solutions and complete classroom management systems for
STEM curricula. The consortium equipped more than 1,500 schools during 2008.
